Are you OK with Scout vehicles starting under $60K?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Will Scouts starting at under $60K prevent you from buying one?

I have two reserved and daughter is considering. She always says she wants a truck so I’m trying to convince her of that and I get traveler and while she lives at home a bit to start her career next year after college we can flip flop. Problem is she loves the Pacific most color and I just love the terra in the silo color so I’ll keep waiting on colors
I’m wanting the silo green on the traveler.

Is that your dream color or the one you like the best so far?
It’s my dream color. The off road concept they showed off a while ago is my dream Traveler. I drive a sarge green Wrangler right now. I have always drifted towards dark green cars for some reason. 😂 But they might show off a new color that I love even more! So we will see what I end up choosing. I’ll keep you all in the loop lol.

I like the Silo because it’s a unique green tone. Funny how greens really vary between different viewers

Have you seen the 41 green on the wranglers? In some lights it looks green and in others it looks really brown. (At least for me)
Yes and I tend to lean more brownish and gold-ish greens rather than dark forest greens. It’s the greens closer to yellows on color wheels that appeals to me Or blue-ish teal but dark greens (for me) belong on a jag or an Aston Martin or British vehicles-even RR.

Do you like spinach?

I still want the cheapest, most basic one I can get.

Canceled my pre-order because I got concerned about every concept having rich corinthian leather and white everything.

I want a vinyl bench, rubber floors, an actual ruggedized simple, capable vehicle.

I'm not after premium, I'm after utility.

Scout never said they wouldn't make a trim like the one you like. As a matter of fact quite a few on this forum are of the same thinking. We need to wait and see what they offer. They just might surprise us.

If they do, I'll order one. But no need for me to sit around on a preorder list at this point in time when all evidence points to them wanting to market a Rivian competitor, premium vehicle.

South of $60K? Absolutely.

North of $60K? That’s a bigger discussion. When they are released, we’ll be on a limited budget. I’ll have to make sacrifices
with any extras that I’d want. If the base price goes higher than, well I’d have to reconsider my options . . .
I’m going to vote no, based on the face value of the poll. Under $60K is reasonable.

Can you share this?

I haven't really seen any indication they want to budge off their initial base price. They may be targeting additional trims/packages that puts it in the Rivian category, but that's a different discussion ;)
