Spare Tire, Backpack, or Bald?

We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Reading back through that thread seems like there's at least thoughts about making that even more functional - like possible cooling options, which would be even better than standard cooler.
100% spare tire for me. Will never own another auto without a spare. Ever.
That said, I would prefer the spare under the auto (33 inch tires are fine) instead of on the rear adding 17 inches to the length.

Depending on the size of the tire it was my understanding the spare would go underneath like a 4Runner.
I agree, I have to have a spare and I want the tire carrier on the back. Like must have it, but I think there’s a plan for a spare if it’s not in the tire carrier.
...still getting used to this forum. But, someone just posted that they believe it is written in this forum that if the range extender is used on the Traveler the spare tire under auto is not an option. Fine with me. As long as SM nails the 350+ EV range, mine will be full EV. So, the spare can go under auto. That would be fantastic!
Yes that was @SpaceEVDriver. He’s a great one to follow. He has a Lightning and a Mach E and if you have EV specific questions he most likely has an answer and will give you all the math behind it too!
My reservation is for the BEV as well and I was thinking the BEV Traveler the tire will fit under. With caveats of of course, tire size definitely being one of them.
How frequently is that trip made? We tend to go once a month and get handful of things but I know others shop hardcore by the month. I have 5 grocery stores within 15 minutes so Costco is only for good deal bulk buys.
I think it was mentioned somewhere that intent would be insulated but maybe I imagined that?
I wish my Costco was closer. It’s an hour each way and Sam’s is 10 minutes. So Sam’s it is. I really miss Costco. I tried when we first moved here to go to that one but I was spending $800 to $1000 each time because I was going so infrequently. And in the winter, forget about it.
Early on it was stated 33” would fit under the vehicle.
We are opposite. Sam’s is hour plus, Costco is 15 and BJ’s is 20-ish. Costco is 3 minutes from archery that we lived at for 10 years so no brainer
That’s been the common assumption, but I’ve never seen it actually confirmed by anyone from scout. I asked @Jamie@ScoutMotors a while back but never saw a response.
I’ve only seen mention of the underbody spare being for the Terra
We have 2 Costcos where I live. About a 10 minute drive from each. Every time I go I spend way to much money then I should.
To be fair though the concept Frunks aren’t finalized and it has been stated they might get a little smaller
I hope the current size doesn’t change much, unless it gets bigger, I looks like there’s a lot of area lost to the plastic walls, I know it’s the wheel wells, motor, and other operational parts but I won’t say to more frunk, since it should be weather resistant and a lot better than any tonneau cover, for those going with the Terra
