Off-topic stuff…

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Just wanted to show off this gift that my amazing girlfriend made for me for our 4 year anniversary!

Wife's 2020 Ford Edge is beginning to exhibit symptoms of transmission/torque converter failure and power transfer unit failure... Has 155,000+ miles on it currently. Looks like we will be making the plunge into the world of EVs before I can order a Scout! Looking at the Blazer and Equinox EVs from GM and will likely be purchasing one of the two come next week... Ordered a level 2 home charger (Emporia Pro) and will be most likely doing the install myself.

Sorry to hear that. Start a thread and take us along on your journey. I like reading the experiences of the new EV owners on here. It’s very helpful. Let us know what you end up with.

Vegas GP!! I stayed up late to watch, go to bed and wake up to both McLarens DSQ, Max and Oscar tied for 2nd in the drivers championship and Lando only ahead by 24 points! These last two races and the sprint are going to be nuts! I love it!

No deal yet... but cross shopping dealers to find the best deal reminds me of why I hate car buying. Some list one price with discount and then get real cagey when you attempt to run numbers with discount applied... A lot weren't upfront with the loan term lengths when they provided a monthly payment breakdown...

None of the dealerships around me, within a 50 mile radius even offer discounts and are happy sit and wait for someone to purchase at MSRP... Yet I can find dealers with on the hood discounts if I'm willing to travel 200-300 miles away (I am)... Funny thing is when I ask local dealers if they're willing to price match and they say yes, they balk when I find a listing that's cheaper for the same vehicle (same model trim and options) and send it to them as proof. They make excuses and won't attempt to price match or come off their price after they said they would be able to price match...

The whole car buying process is broken and it's really wearing me down... So dang frustrating when I have to hunt around for the best deal for my family...

That’s awful. Good luck.

Well it’s happened. I got the letter from Jeep. “We know your Wrangler is still reliable.” (Code for: we know you have lifetime warranty and we are just going to keep fixing it and fixing it.). “With today’s new features it might be time to upgrade.” (Code for: please trade this in before we have to pay for a new engine or transmission.). “That’s why we have created a package for you and your Wrangler VIN #…). (Code for: Again please trade in this Wrangler.). “We are going to give you $2500 bonus cash + any public cash. (What the heck does public cash mean? Other dealer offers? Is someone from the public going to throw more cash at me to trade in my Wrangler?). “Hurry this offer expires 1/6/26.” (Code for: Please trade your Wrangler in before it breaks again.)

Clearly not going to happen. Rain just needs to hold on until I get my Traveler and my MOPAR warranty can just keep paying for those repairs. 😹
