Harvester towing

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

I would strongly suggest the harvester model towing more than 5k. This is going to be a deal breaker for most people and cause a lot of cancelled reservations. My opinion but I would not have announced something like this without all the details
In place to make a firm stance. This has created a lot of confusion and speculation and as a result many cancelled reservations. I would like to see the Terra at least able
To tow 7500 at minimum and the traveler at 5000k minimum. It makes no sense for both the tow the same with one able
To tow nearly 3k more on the pure ev models. This is just my suggestion. Keeping the price within the mentioned amount during announcement I hope is possible to have the towing range increased ( 7500 for Terra 5000 for traveler) that’s my suggestion and opinion.

OK. But understand I don’t want to pay for it-it should be included. BTW did they mention how much this model will be and will there be incentives from the oil industry?
My insider said are targeting around $20,000 USD, $250,000 Canadian. And there is a new incentive on the horizon that two groups will help incentivize. The OPEC/DBDC (drill baby drill coalition) are going to offer up to $8 dollars in carbon credits.

Agree. This solves my problem and idea of the spare 40 gallon gas tank on the front passenger seat. Great thinking @LastDayScout
You joke… When I was a kid going on trips across the Mojave Desert, we would carry several 5-gallon gas cans in the trunk of the car (with direct air circulation with the passenger cabin) because 24-hr gas stations didn’t exist and we had to travel at night to avoid overheating… Fun times.

They are 50% optimized for off-road traction, 50% optimized for silent running, and 50% optimized for range.
I got to thinking. If there’s a big engine in the new Scout as you implied then there’s probably no Frunk anymore-No frunk then I’M OUT! Or will SM relocate it to the side of the truck-I don’t use the sides of the vehicle for anything.
Anyway. It must have a frunk or it will fail miserably!

Well sir you will not be disappointed. It is an option however. It’s actually called a FWUNK (fifth wheel + trunk= FWUNK). It’s essentially one of those Sears turtle shell roof carriers mounted to a fifth wheel adapter.

HA! You thought I meant move the frunk. I meant move the engine. I’m all in for continuing the Fury Road look. I don’t expect a live musician strapped to the hood but if the stereo could be mounted on the hood with swivel heads I could jam when driving OR spin it around and have a mobile Woodstock anywhere I go since I know this beast will be unstoppable!

Wait, now that is a pedestrian warning we can all get around. If someone would dare step out in front of this rig, or somehow not hear the thunder of the exhaust stacks…they are met with this.
