Hey! Don’t abandon us!5 years is a long time to find out what you were initially excited about isn’t being produced for even a long time. A Porsche convertible is still in my mind and can pick up a lightly used one at any time.

I can’t even imagine.5 years is a long time to find out what you were initially excited about isn’t being produced for even a long time. A Porsche convertible is still in my mind and can pick up a lightly used one at any time.
Oh I love those!!The idea of lower maintenance and simplicity are not new to Scout as seen in the original add for the diesel option. So, that got me thinking and I created a new but familiar message. View attachment 14035

It’s an up and down thing but when this forum becomes negative on scouts or we start posting threads about non related scout “stuff” to avoid the negativity it just starts to wear and knowing all media is harvester only just wears even more, whether intended to be negative or not.I can’t even imagine.
Well done sirThe idea of lower maintenance and simplicity are not new to Scout as seen in the original add for the diesel option. So, that got me thinking and I created a new but familiar message. View attachment 14035

Fellow BEV res holder. Love it!Love the ad @LastDayScout , exactly what SM should be doing in my opinion but it might only rankle up those "put a real motor in it and I'll buy one" folks. And in one regard, I sympathize with @J Alynn being an early reservation holder, I feel like this is a "newer" marketing technique that is being applied - and perhaps over used. But I guess it's also working because I'm still waiting. I declare SM should do the BEV reservation holders FIRST because there are so few of us!?![]()
I agree! I think the goal needs to be grass roots efforts and SM social media presenting these types of ads for BEV only. To be fair-there really never was a BEV ad campaign from scout. From the time the prototypes were revealed, I’m guessing 95% or more of social media has been the harvester “hybrid”. I think there is a large population of EV buyers out there that don’t swoon over car news and have no idea the Scouts exist. I know it’s too early to be spending money on TV ad campaigns but there should be a push on social media. At this point the only real narrative is Scouts are EREV, so they have a gas tank. But they are missing the opportunity to grow the other side. Not to mention the rest of social media is implying there are little to no BEVs so anyone who has a BEV and sees that news likely gives up on the Scouts.Love the ad @LastDayScout , exactly what SM should be doing in my opinion but it might only rankle up those "put a real motor in it and I'll buy one" folks. But the current narrative lets EV fear mongers see the word gas and engine which eases their mind enough to look. Again-I know some demographics just need harvester so it is important but I suspect 50% of harvester res holders would be perfectly happy with BEV and would never go back after experiencing it for several months or moreIm a Harvester Reservation holder. But This was nice to see!
The whole separation between harvester and pure EV should end. The divide is dumb, considering deep down its an Electric Powertrain. And the media just makes everything 1000% worse.
We should all be supporting Scouts choice because deep down we are all Scouts!
well its a free market for a reason. We're not China! If we were we would probably have the EV build out like China. But the current narrative lets EV fear mongers see the word gas and engine which eases their mind enough to look. Personal real example. We have a Volt. When I had the charger, I was a little jealous that my partner only got gas once at that time because we left the lot with half a tank of gas, and they wanted to top it off, meanwhile, I was going out of my way every few nights to get gas, so once they said I should I see if CarMax had any bolts it was a done deal. Since then they've bought gas 3 times for around town and 4 times on a road trip last winter. They currently want a Prius, but would happily take an EV if they could make that same road trip with only 2 stops to charge in the winterBut the current narrative lets EV fear mongers see the word gas and engine which eases their mind enough to look. Seems like its a personal preference type thing.Personal real example. We have a Volt. This winter we're planning to take my car out there and see how "stressful it really is in an EV other than added time because the bolts slower charging speeds and smaller battery I don't think it'll be all that bad, but I also just enjoy chewing milesSeems like its a personal preference type thing.
I would say to watch GM, if they make a Tahoe\Yukon EV they might hit those rangesIf the EV was 450 miles I would switch from harvester in a heart-beat. The simplicity is worth it. It’s true that I don’t need much more than 150 miles for 99% of my driving, but I already have an EV for that.
If the scout is replacing my current SUV I want something where the 100% range is comfortably greater than the time it takes me to get really hungry after a meal on long road trips.
Charge time sort matters but not really.
450 miles is the limit I decided on after doing a long road trip in an EV with a 280 mile range, but I think I’m unlikely to see that in a SUV EV until the 2030’s
I will probably be convinced with 350 miles in the Terra. If the EV was 450 miles I would switch from harvester in a heart-beat. The simplicity is worth it. It’s true that I don’t need much more than 150 miles for 99% of my driving, but I already have an EV for that.
