R2 wheels
Honestly I’m not that excited about them. I much prefer the SM wheels I have seen so far.

You know I’m gonna say I’m exactly the opposite and the wheels on my Scout are like a fabulous pair of heels and they have to complement the rest of my Scout’s outfit.Wheels are one of those items that only matter to me in function. I want highly-drag-efficient wheels that are as light as possible while holding the tire and carrying the vehicle’s weight. I couldn’t care any less about their appearance.
DRAG-was that pun intended too?Why can’t we have both—you know—drag efficient AND heels.
OMG, I had no clue Heely's still existed....wild flashback
Thanks for this. It’s helpful to get a feel for what else is on the way!Went to the R2 block party in Denver today. I really liked it. Got to sit in a model, take some measurements and look at the R1 again to compare. It reinforced for me that the R1 (and likely the Scout) are probably bigger vehicles than we need. Biggest priority for me was determining if we can fit an XL dog crate behind the rear seats, and it seems like we could. The opening at the back might be juuuust too tight a squeeze.
Overall, I really liked the haptic wheels on the steering wheel, and that you can control HVAC from those. The interior finish is fine, but does not feel as premium as the R1 or the Scout concepts. Which makes sense for the price point compared to the R1. I like several of the exterior colors, and seeing them in person was nice. Overall a good event, and the R2 will likely be a great mass market EV option for a lot of people, us potentially included!
Yeah-Europeans like that too and not a fan of majority of US drivers/passengers carry large Yeti/(name favorite brand) beverage holders and that needs to be accounted for this day and ageOh, and a pet peeve complaint about both Rivian models - they have the pop out cup holder trays even in the front. I think that's just a terrible design. It feels so frail and fiddly. I always have some kind of beverage with me, and not having just permanent built in cupholders in the console seems silly to me. Especially in a car as big as the R1.
Oh for sure.Yeah-Europeans like that too and not a fan of majority of US drivers/passengers carry large Yeti/(name favorite brand) beverage holders and that needs to be accounted for this day and age
