Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
I blame social media for this.

Yep, agreed. I believe humans are intrinsically lazier and more brainwashed than ever before.

I also blame all the complete suckers for clicking into stuff like this all day long... Just Don't do it! 🫣

Hopefully, there's still a chance we can return to an age of critical thinking (or at least "critical thinking on top of A/I"). LOL

And I’m so tired of the captions that say, “I just found the viral (insert product name here)”. If you have to tell people it’s viral, it isn’t.

And don’t get me started on the influencers that do the finger taps on products. Nope, pass.

I blame social media for this. Everything gets an instant reaction, rebuttal, reaction video, breakdown, deep dive, whatever. There's always a winner and a loser whether its politics, sports, technology, cars, stocks, TV shows. And your team Winning is the only thing that matters.

Someone I know says "There's a reason Baskin-Robbins has 31 flavors."

It's okay to like something different than someone else.
Nuance is a dying art.

Sometimes both parties involved in an incident are idiots, but people for whatever reason, still try to pick a side.

I think it's been an issue long before the proliferation of social media.

People used to love their cigarettes so much that they would buy expensive Marlboro jackets to wear at social event and mocked people who smoked Camels. Both people probably ended up with Emphysema so there wasn't really a winner there.

Peoples' identities were enmeshed with consumerism and identity politics long before Xanga, Live Journal, Vine, AIM, MySpace, Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, Weibo, Reddit, or whatever people will jump on next.

Social media just gave them visibility and an echo chamber of self congratulatory platforms to share those views with the entire world.

That could only be surface deep. Not even close. To the contrary, I wish Scout had a R2 competitor.
It's a progression, and looks like Scout is following the playbook. Crawl, Walk, Run!
Gotta get through the initial run, build credibility, trust and brand "re-awareness", then go for it.
We should see an R2 competitor, but it will clearly take time.

It will never happen. I saw an article in Deustche van Autostrassen this morning that said Rivian is acquiring Scout motors. I can’t get it to translate or I would post the article. They are apparently also in talks with honda to use the Rivian software in Honda’s new small jet. Big things are happening!

Okay I take everything I said back about only wanting a key fob. I want a fob and THIS!!!!! I don’t need it on my phone, but I always have my Apple Watch on. Always.

SM can we just take this from Rivian and do the same thing please.

I saw the commercial for this today! I wear my Apple Watch 24/7. I have it on me more than my phone 😂 I would like to see Scout do something similar to this.

I have no desire for either. I wear my new Scout watch and that makes me happy. Maybe they imbedded a signal in it for the future vehicles.

Maybe they are sneaking that feature into the watches without telling anyone. Then when you pick up your Scout, they casually mention that the Scout branded watches can be used as a fob for the vehicle. 😁

Turns out you can solve all the problems with social media with this one weird trick that they don’t want you to know, but they can’t stop you…
