Rivian's first R2s — test models called manufacturing validation build vehicles — drove off the line earlier this month, with the first customer deliveries expected by June. That comes after a huge expansion that added 2.6 million square feet of new space at the plant in Normal.dlvr.it

I have a reservation and they haven’t gone out to us. According to things I’ve read somewhere, current owners of an R1 get preferred access to the R2. I don’t expect we’ll get the option to convert our reservation to a purchase until much later in the year. And I don’t expect to purchase the R2; it’s just not quite what I think we want in our next vehicle and we have to save up for longer.
Yeah I put down for a reservation the day I saw it at the San Jose reveal back in...checks internet...wow, April of 2024. The lease on our ID.4 comes up in February of next year and while it's still top of list, I'm seeing cracks forming in that decision since needs, budgets, competitors both on the new and used market (thanks to heavy EV depreciation), are changing.

100% same here. I'm keeping my reservation until the point of no return and then probably canceling it.
