From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.
Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

I’ve never understood the problem people have with what someone else does (safely) with their own vehicle. If someone wants to drive their Prius off-road and they do it safely without impacting others…why the haters? If someone wants to drive their Jeep as a pavement-only vehicle, and they’re not impacting others, why the haters?
I’d like to see 100,000 Scouts sold in the first year (yes, I’m dreaming). If all 100,000 of those went to Moab, it would be a CF. No, thanks. Please, some people, keep those Scouts on the pavement.

This brings up a question. Does anyone know how many they are planning on producing the first year? I don’t have any idea. Could make some guesses, but they would just be guesses. Whatever their hoped-for number, expect quite a bit fewer as they work out the kinks of actually building and producing the vehicles.

It does get a bit tiring here that it seems you must fit in with the established mindset and preferences of the core group, otherwise someone jumps on you to snuff it out and eliminate the unapproved discussion. That’s one of the main reasons I just stick to the sidelines and don’t bother interacting anymore. It’s a shame because the more variety we have on here, the more information there will be for Scout to come to market with vehicles that can satisfy and excite a wider group of buyers (maybe they’ll even become brand-loyal enthusiasts, not just consumers) and in turn have the most growth and success possible.
Guess you’d have to determine start date and do you mean MODEL year, FISCAL year or just the first 12 months of production? I could see it being upwards of 30K-40K in the first 12 months.
28 model year. My license plate is very specific.
OOF! My reservation was in May and already the talk was 50K on reservations. That means fiscal 2029 for me. That’s ok, I can save up for more goodies.

Agree. I don’t even like seeing the term pavement princess. Tons of buyers have three row SUVs and never use the third row but we don’t label them ‘empty seaters’ other than some dirt roads and pasture like scenarios my parents nor I ever off-roaded our ‘77 Scout and nobody back then labeled us as anything other than drivers.I’ve never understood the problem people have with what someone else does (safely) with their own vehicle.
