Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
We got zero education from our dealers. We didn't need it, but we're not necessarily a typical buyer. Then again, I've always known more about the vehicle I wanted than the people selling it.
Agree from ICE POV but EV is all new so I will have many a question as things develop and get announced

Funny how different we can be. I’m a visual person so videos tend to help me retain better than reading. Right brain vs left brain is interesting

I also retain info more from a video, but I love to bookmark/save content I can pull up quickly or look through at later points, scrubbing through a video and then having to listen to it doesn't always work well for that.

I can read much faster than I can hear. I have auditory processing issues so my brain registers what’s being said about a half second or so too late so after a while, it gives up 😂

I loved my classes that were asynchronous because I could rewind as often as I needed but text was still so much better for me.

Grrrr….

“Grrrr….” Is right. I hope Scout and Honda kick lots of NADA fanny. I purchased my last two used vehicles from the local Toyota dealership and for years I was happy with the service received. About 3-4 years ago a large automotive group from the West coast purchased our locally owned Toyota dealerships. I can tell you that great service vibe is gone. I’ve started using local independents.

With ADHD, I get bored with the slow speaking and relative rambling in videos. Even when text rambles, I can skim it and get back to the informative parts more quickly.

And more importantly, I don't retain much on the first pass. Having the text allows me to search and find the parts that are of interest to me in the subsequent passes.

Don't forget to smash that like button and subscribe to see more videos and as always our content is brought to you by our wonderful sponsors (trails off into a 3 minute ad read). So yeah, if you move the switch to the on position it will turn the lights on. And thats our video for today be sure to join me in the next video and thanks for watching.
It would be great if they had a spot on the forum. One for videos, one for text and we could all give suggestions for what kind of info we need.

The more education I get, the more Im considering the BEV.

As we go through this journey it honestly would be great if we had little educational short videos from Scout. These are the different kind of chargers, the best chargers for your Scout, what the different apps are and how they differ, etc.

Many members on here have been providing lots of great info (@SpaceEVDriver) but it would be great if we had one place to go that had it all.

Article I saw this morning.

"A recurring complaint for those interested in transitioning to electric vehicles is that dealers don’t know how to adequately sell them—or educate owners about how they work."

I’m with you on this. In fact I’m 99-44/100’s % going with the BEV. Not that the Harvester isn’t still a possibility, but the reason would have to be compellingly overwhelming.

Good idea about the Scout videos, and they may be planning to do that as the production ramp-up matures.

Yes-hat is a problem but would hope SM doesn’t pull that nonsense

My company is now going to podcasts. Take 20-30 lines of text, throw in in ChatGPT and ask for a casual conversation on podcast format and 2 minutes later it’s done. Copy that into one of the apps and set character voices and percentages and 5 minutes later you have a full blown podcast. Works great. One of the few things I see AI good for in this world
