  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
The 2026, yeah. IMO, its range is pretty great, for most uses. I wish they had increased the charge speed substantially. The 2025- maximum charge speed was poorly considered at 100 kW. From their press materials, the 2026 is not going to charge much more rapidly. It’s a shame. They should be trying to hit 2C maximum charge rate at least. All EV manufacturers should be. We could solve a massive amount of charger congestion if manufacturers would just bump up their peak and their average charge speeds by 10-20%. And it wouldn’t impact battery lifetime enough to matter.
100% agree. Capacity is fine, it’s efficiency that needs improvement both in charge speed and driving dynamics.

I’m in a rental car this weekend. A ford expedition. It’s roughly the width and height of the traveler. Honestly I think it’s a bit big for me. I’m driving a Volvo xc60 now which is relatively small, so maybe it’s just something to get used to.
I do like the solid feeling of the bigger ford

I agree, just something to get used to. Not quite the same but when my husband upgraded my engagement ring I said something about the ring being big, and I will never forget, my jeweler said “it’s only too big if someone else is wearing it”.

So I’m just thinking of it that way. It’s only too big if someone else is driving it. 😹

So I took a shot at some overlay comparisons. All vehicles shown are 98% accurate. I did a full overlay of a bunch and they are labeled but a bit tough to compare all at once. Also dropped a traveler vs Bronco 4-door and a traveler vs Yukon.
If I have time over next week I can break down some of the others shown if someone has a specific comparison.
I’m not adding more vehicles unless a whole lot of people need to see a specific comparison.
I did not show wrangler as I figure it’s nearly same as Bronco-give or take ?
Hope the visuals help a bit!
Love this. Perfect, Thank you

So spending a weekend at Disney world and just road test track (those who like Disney and haven’t been since they remodeled test track I really like it). Anyway, beyond the fact that the ride hits 0-65 in somewhere around 3-4 seconds on a loop I don’t need scout any faster than 3.5 seconds and that feels excessive. But again-to my point, end of ride had brand new GMC’s-a Tahoe and the EV Silverado. Some pics including sales sticker and price for each. I’d still like to say the Scouts are a great value.

I agree. Having a 3.7 second car I agree, my Scout does not need to be faster than that.

I just can’t get over all these $100,000 cars. No wonder the average age of a car right now is 12.

Scout did say $20,000 less than their competitors. I feel like I’m really getting a lot for my money. Plus they are so much prettier than those two things.

The something pine green gray on the Tahoe was a pretty color. About the only thing I really liked about it

Cypress Gray is the color I believe. Had it on a rental last year and really admired it. It's flashy, perhaps a little understated but it really sparkles in the sunlight.

Glad to hear that. Is was inside under LED’s and a linear blue attraction light so it was hard to truly tell. That was the color for sure-I looked at the sales sticker a while ago and saw it listed. But the blue accent lighting really pushed it gray. I like the silo green on the Terra but the Cypress is a very appealing color

@cyure brings up a good point. When considering comps should the extra 17 inches be factored in? The Traveler and the Sequoia are in two differenct vehicle classes in my opinion. One is a three row and the other is not. They share a similar wheelbase but the Traveler's overhangs are much shorter. That said, the 17 inches of tire carrier makes a difference in vehicle mass so... I guess the question may be whether the class is cars that occupy this much space (such as a parking spot) Or vehicle capabilities like cargo and passenger capacity. I usually think of the latter. I agree with @speedrye but would add the 2027 Montero (much narrower) and the Honda Pasport Trailsport.

Not in the same class, but I think the closest footprint for another SUV with a spare tire hanging off the back is a Defender 130. Interestingly, I think that is an 8 passenger SUV with the extra row - so very different.
I get what you are saying. I was just looking for something that was the same dimensions so I could see how much space it took up in a parking space, and changing lanes etc with something that long.

Here's the comparison chart for the Traveler! I went with the Toyota Land Cruiser since it's a two row (rather than the 3 row Sequoia), the 4 door Bronco with 35s so that it was more comparable in build to the Traveler, and the R1S. I chose the R1S over the R2 even though it's a 3 row because the R2 is a unibody and drastically smaller than the Traveler. I wanted to make sure we had an adventure ready EV SUV on the list and the R1S fits the bill.

The net takeaway: the Traveler's big! @cyure I know you say they look big in person and I can really see why!

Love this! Thanks for doing all this work! I know who we are going to ask when we need charts!

Yes they are, but I will say each subsequent time I see them they don’t feel as big. Like oh yeah that’s the Traveler I’m used to that. And after you get to sit in them, you all will be fine.

It’s like my jeweler said when I was picking out my diamond ring. “The diamond is only too big if someone else is wearing it!”

The Traveler is only big when someone else is driving it!!

Off the top of my head:
Chevy Tahoe
Toyota Land Cruiser or Lexus GX
Toyota 4Runner (new one)
4-Door Bronco (not Sport)
4-Door Wrangler
Land Rover Defender maybe?
Rivian R1S
I’d consider scrapping the Bronco and Wrangler just based on size and stature but the rest are good comparisons
