Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Here's the comparison chart for the Traveler! I went with the Toyota Land Cruiser since it's a two row (rather than the 3 row Sequoia), the 4 door Bronco with 35s so that it was more comparable in build to the Traveler, and the R1S. I chose the R1S over the R2 even though it's a 3 row because the R2 is a unibody and drastically smaller than the Traveler. I wanted to make sure we had an adventure ready EV SUV on the list and the R1S fits the bill.

The net takeaway: the Traveler's big! @cyure I know you say they look big in person and I can really see why!

Great chart! To anyone who has seen the interior of the Traveler and/or have had the chance to sit in the Traveler, what are your thoughts on interior space and seating height? Based on exterior’s specs and online photos, I’m imagining the traveler as roomier than some of its competitors listed in chart above.

Hello again! Having sat in the front and back seats I feel the Traveler is definitely roomier than my 4-door Wrangler. Definitely. And the windshield is so much bigger. Definitely a wider field of view for sure.

Not sure if you saw my pictures from SC or not, here they are again. I’m 5’7” and the hubs is 5’10”.

I did see these! Thanks for sharing again. I wasn’t sure how well the photos represented the actual interior space.

I can’t comment on this past weekend 😉 but at 5’-10” height I find the seating height to be amazing. Our last Uber ride in Boston was in a suburban-back seat obviously, but I would say height and overall interior width felt very similar, suburban felt (or was) a bit wider

First of all, great chart! It's so much to fun to see the Traveler up against current production vehicles. However, I think there has been one monstrosity that's been left out which for me at least is what I've been comparing Traveler to the most, and thats the Hummer EV SUV. Of which I think would be a better fit in this group than the Bronco, because it's more of a "traditional SUV" and has a spare tire.

Additionally an asterisk could be added for the R1's because with their air suspension the ground clearance can go up to 15 inches. The same could also be said with the Hummer. I've said this before but when I was shopping for my R1T I compared it to the CT, Silverado EV, and Hummer EV truck, and if the Hummer had been as software focused as the Rivian, that's what I would be driving right now. I think the Hummer just looks like an absolute beast, but having seen the Traveler in person, it's right there with it.

Interesting as expected that the EV’s have wheels pushed out further so therefore longer wheel bases

I had the Hummer EV in my longer list before winnowing down to the four in the chart just because it is a large EV SUV. But is it a vehicle people shopping for a Traveler EV actually consider as an alternative? The Hummer always seems so gimmicky to me.

Perhaps I could make an EV only version and an ICE version:
  1. EV - Traveler vs. R1S, Hummer EV, and one other. Jeep Recon? Something else?
  2. ICE - Traveler Harvester vs. what would you all want to see here? Some options I've seen - Land Cruiser, Land Rover Defender, Tahoe, Jeep Wrangler 4-Door
As for the R1S air suspension, I did include that as a footnote on the Traveler strength on ground clearance.

If you are up for the work two charts would be interesting just to see the variations

Same, I don’t consider the Hummer EV as a comparison to the Traveler. The body on that thing is as wide as the Traveler with mirrors. It’s too heavy to go on some bridges for goodness sake. I don’t think it needs to be included.

I like the idea of the full EV comparison for sure. I think Traveler v R1S v Hummer EV SUV v idk maybe the Escalade IQ? I'm thinking more of the larger SUV's as I consider Traveler to be a full size SUV. Unlike the R2, Recon, or similar vehicles that are IMO a midsize and not a good comparison to Traveler.

Hey @cyure believe it or not, Hummer EV owners are actually taking their vehicles off-road, it's kind of cool. There are quite a few videos of them doing some decent trails, but yeah, if I had one I would stay away from the bridges too lol!

The hard part is you literally can’t adjust anything. It does feel bigger than my Wrangler for sure.

I think you could include the 4Runner in the ICE category. It’s a very popular body-on-frame, 2-row SUV that is capable off road/on road and can easily be spec’d out to cost similarly to the predicted cost of the Traveler.
