The Garage (What did you work on today?)

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Sorry you have all of that going on... Hopefully it will work out better than anticipated... Your new cruiser sounds like it will be fun!

That was her 5th car accident in 2 years 🥴

She has also been physically aggressive with me recently, including a pretty serious incident last year that left me with some deep bruises for a few weeks.

I’m honestly relieved and just taking it one day at a time.

Keeping myself busy as a solo dad for the past few weeks and researching the new platform.

My favorite feature so far is the center console fridge. It’s legit! Toyota developed it after NGOs like UNICEF and the WHO asked them to incorporate a fridge that could transport vaccines and medicines in regions like the Sahara. It has its own EVAP core so it’s not just a box with a fan inside. It can get down into the 30-40* Fahrenheit zone if you leave it running for a while.

It has other neat stuff too radar cruise control, 7.1 surround Mark Levinson sound system, and headlights that actually turn with the steering wheel.

Feels like a tank going down the road. Much roomier inside for big families too.

Not really sure how far I want to take things yet but I am really excited about putting the 35”s on there soon.

The wheels I chose are a new offering from Icon called the Icon Alloys Hammer Pro in a 17x8.5 with +25 offset

They have a really cool internal beadlock system that is DOT legal but can safely go down to single digit PSIs. They use bolts that thread into the inner barrel of the wheel and seal the inside of the bead against the outer lip of the rim.

They also have replaceable outer rings so if I get curb-rock rash I can just replace the damaged section and keep them looking new.

Well, it sounds like you have a healthy perspective on things and I hope you have a great Father's Day...
Also sounds like your new truck is gonna be really cool!

So sorry to hear that.

Glad you have a project to focus on and love those wheels! I looked at something similar for my Wrangler but couldn’t do it because I have an aftermarket backup camera and there wasn’t enough room between the openings in the wheel for the camera to poke through.
