Special/First Edition Scouts

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Just throwing my $.02 in on this.

I think classic style wheels, exclusive graphics, and a front locker would satiate me for a "Community Edition Package" or "Homecoming Edition Package".

I am still willing to pay more for other features because I want Scout to be successful, but would also feel like I have something special too.

It’s the like the Toyota 4Runner. That thing has 9 trims because for example they did the TRD Off-road which is the regular engine and then the TRD Off-road Premium which is the iForce max hybrid engine. That 4Runner is just too many trims.

What drove me nuts on that car is for example the TRD Off-road sport has a hood scoop but body color fenders. The TRD Off-road has a flat hood but black fenders. The only way you can get a hood scoop and black fenders is to move up to the TRD PRO and that jumps up in price and is limited production so hard to find.

I’m hoping the DTC model takes a lot of that frustration out and that we can order them the way we want them.
That’s why I think there needs to be a legit off-road package and then an off-road appearance package like Audi does with the ‘S’ line. Or just make all wheel available without full blown set-up like Bronco did. If you wanted the 35’s and beadlocks you had to go Squatch and it was what-nearly $8K. When I built my daughters with her she just wanted the larger wheels and a 2” lift which should have been like $3500 give or take.

Are the Bronco Wheels just lookers, or are they true beadlocks? I was under the impression that OEM's could not deliver trucks with beadlocks due to DOT regulations. Although I use my truck in places where AT tires are great, I don't do any type of rock crawling at all, have no plans to in the future and so I have no need for beadlocks, so I'm not sure whether that is accurate or not.

I’m pretty sure the Squatch packages were legit beadlocks. Maybe someone who has a Bronco on here can confirm

They were beadlock capable.

So the black diamond had skid plates and semi off road. The Sasquatch package cost more depending on trim level, and the upgraded hoss 3.0 which came on the wild track also had 35” tires but fox racing shocks, this is what I had.

Tbh I don’t plan to rock crawl my daily driver because I need to get to work and not risking destroying a $60k car. Large tires looked awesome, but maybe could settle for 33”. Those aren’t small either

Nice. Miss our Bronco. Wish we wouldn’t have gotten a lemon

They were beadlock capable and shipped from the factory with beauty rings. You can order a bead lock kit that just bolts right up from Ford Performance. Those wheels now appear to be optional with the Sasquatch package with some trims, but not with others, with a default non-headlock capable wheel on some Sasquatch packages.

Ford did the “too many trim” things with the Bronco imo. At launch, you had 6 trims including the stripped down base trim (which actually saw a fair bit of demand) and the Sasquatch package (front and rear lockers, 35s, lower gear ratio, 2” lift with fancier shocks) was 2-5k depending on trim.

I saw someone here propose 3 trims at launch - base, community/mid, and loaded - and I fully agree with that.

One thing Ford did right was they didn’t gate Sasquatch behind the fancy expensive trims. I sincerely hope Scout does the same.

I believe a forged beadlock wheel is typically much heavier when you factor-in rings & bolts, plus you would be running bigger, heavier and less aerodynamic tires and less aerodynamic wheels (with the rings and bolts). I imagine that the range impact with Beadlocks would be severe?
