I went to the Ionna Charging Station that opened in Pembroke Pines and here is some feedback

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Hopefully time will tell. The EV community needs to be more vocal and start picking one station over others as much as possible to push for canopies and pull throughs and the benefits we all want. Make voices heard and maybe it will happen

This.

Canopies, yes.

But also. WINDOW WASHING STUFF, just like a gas station.

Most people hardly ever DC Fast Charge, unless they're on a road trip. And road tripping, means bugs all over the windshield.

On my recent trip, exactly 1 station out of 14 had anything to clean the windows with. And it felt like we killed every bug in Idaho. It was bad. This is clearly an unmet need. To the point that if I road trip again, I may take supplies myself for cleaning the windshield at a stop.

Brilliant observation. Never thought about that but makes complete sense.

It was one of those "facepalm" moments for me. I'd also never thought about it, but in hindsight, it is totally obvious.

Some places, its not so bad. But we were cruising along freeways surrounded by median in the center and active farmland on both sides, for miles, at dusk. Sometimes the volume of bugs hitting the windshield sounded almost like rain.

The upside, is as vehicle charging times keep improving, I think we'll start to see more "gas station" style stops. More pull through stuff, as the dwell time at the charger will go down. And so things like awnings/canopies, and even these window washing stations might become more common.

So, the partnerships that Ionna have with the retails chains: Sheetz, Wawa, Casey's etc... are fast tracked rechargeries. These are easier and quicker to get setup and get running. At several Sheetz locations Ionna chargers do have canopies, it's really about space limitations at these existing stores. Most gas station locations don't have the space to get a canopy permitted.

One in Scranton has a canopy for reference on how they'll look with a canopy.

We now have 5 Sheetz and 1 Wawa within 10 minutes of my house and I think it’s grass is greener mentality. Used to be a Sheetz guy and they are more convenient but for food I prefer Wawa. Better rolls , and all the other stuff I said earlier

We have a spot nearby that has one across the street from the other, ha.

I think they each have their positives (Wawa coffee and breakfast, Sheetz pretzel rolls and snacks)

Man if they only had sushi...

(just kidding!)

My wife turned me into a 'pack-your-own-meal' kinda guy years ago and I rarely buy anything from a service station unless it's an emergency or I didn't plan well...
