Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Any thoughts on the New Mazda something something. forgot the name already because it isn’t really important considering that Mazda Electric powertrains BEV and PHEV have been very spotty with quality. But supposedly this isn’t a rebranded model it’s designed ground up. No more Toyota JointVenture thing they had going on.

Wow! This is fabulous. No chance of that happening in my state. Any other states that might follow suite?
I’m going to say that NJ probably not since, even with a Demo in office we aren’t the most EV friendly state even with the ridiculous claim of all new vehicles being a sort of Electric power train by 2035. We only have allowed Tesla to sell here and that was allowed by a Repub back when Tesla was a newer company.

But we do have the program called Charge Up. But it’s nothing but a website showing Manufacture incentives. And Tesla and Rivian aren’t on it. Even though they are offering them as well. It’s pretty dumb on NJ. #WorstStateInAmerica only thing that’s keeping me is the beaches.

Sorry for the rant and the bashing.

Just stumbled onto it. Here are some more pics. I really like this color scheme. Maybe a bit more gray or a bit less “purple” but I agree it’s Mazda but I work with a ton of Mazda owners and they all swear by them

Stumbled on to more. Now I’m calling it plum. Exterior could have a bit more gray and I could be sold. I work with a lot of Mazda owners and they swear by their Mazdas. Still too much screen

This is interesting. Looks like the outside mirrors are actually cameras and the mirror image will be projected to the small monitors on the door panels. Many a concept have shown this but, I don't recall any coming to production with this. At least not in the US. Currently US regulations prohibit the use of camera systems to replace side mirrors.

It's another Chinese (Changan) EV we'll never see. It doesn't appear to be competitive in range or performance. It's something to give Mazda an EV offering in Europe.

"EX60 might not have a design to current Volvos liking. I heard it will raise some eyebrows and maybe not in a good way. It is more a large EX30 than an electric XC60... will EX60 be the naive unsophisticated digital car with no buttons like the EX90... It sounds like it."
Not sure why the interior of the EX60 would be anything other than a middle ground split between the two. In other words, nobody should be surprised here. That said, I'm not a fan of the comically large iPhone glued to the dash look and hate portrait mode screens in cars but it doesn't matter, China is Volvo's largest market and this is the kind of stuff they prefer.

Could be EX60 interior - you'll see differences in materials, staging of the iPad -

I think there are reasons prior chief designer was fired last summer and Ingenlath doesn't return to Volvo until 10 days after EX60 reveal.

Hey all! I started a thread where we can put answer from Jamie when we ask questions.

I have posted some old ones I found but if you know of others drop them in that thread with the link to the original answer.

If you have comments on his answer go to the original thread and make it there.

Let see if we can keep this clean with just his answers so they are easier to find.

Nice idea. I have been putting know info in my Scout notepad file. This is better. :)

Where’s the D@#% buttons?!?

ScoutMotors Engineers picking NACS as the port for Scouts wa sthe right move after seeing Rivians fast change over to NACS at their Posts it was clearly the right choice.
Update: im starting to see more and more posts about RAN switching their CCS to NACS. Seems Rivian isn't messing around with NACS. They must want a somewhat clean and supportive charging slate for when R2 comes out.
