Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
There’s an award for everything. You just won the SM forum members Thursday post of the day for posting this. Congrats! Well deserved
I graciously except this award. I want to thank all the forum members for their invaluable experiences, information, discussion, and sometimes crazy banter. And, to the Scout team members that feed us just enough tidbits to keep us going. I will place it right next to my participation trophy. 🤣

Sadly many those vehicles could only move off lots with heavy heavy manufacturer, dealer, and tax incentives. Will be interesting to see how 2026 shakes out given that tax incentives are gone and mfrs rightsize the supply.
There are a lot of obstacles in the EV environment right now. Only time will tell how EVerything shakes out. And how fast manufactures can react to change.

  • 400mi range on EPA cycle!
  • EX60 can add up to 168 miles of range in just 10 minutes on an 800V, 400kW charger
Volvo has separately stated it'll have price parity with it's XC60 PHEV due to major cost reductions via Geely meaning you're looking at base MSRP in the low $60K range. Not sure if the 400mi range is included on the base model, however I would expect base model range to at least start with a 3 which is really where the industry is headed anyway. Hopefully base Scouts have range figures that start with a 3 as well.

Article is a couple weeks old now covering Colorado but the bold break out quote is Fantastic. Paraphrasing -I read somewhere that 98% of buyers want a showroom experience.
ROTFLMAO-really-would love to see that poll/article and who sponsored it 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
But consider the careful wording, most folks probably do want a “showroom” experience, a big space with cars on display where you can see them up close, sit in them and take them for test drives, maybe even have knowledgeable people to answer questions. But nobody wants a “dealer” experience. I’d love a good showroom experience, which hopefully we’ll get in the next view years with scout, just like Rivian and lucid have already.

It’s a classic bait and switch, say “showroom” and then re-interpret it later as “dealer”.

I’m a grinch; I want the deliver-to-my-door experience.

I know what to do in a dealership: take the vehicle for a test drive and then run away.
I just don’t know what I would DO in a showroom.

I guess if the showroom had something for me to actually do? an office space with secure, fast internet service? or…an arcade? or…a bar? or a place to play dominoes or cards or board games?

I’m just a grinch, I think.

When I went to the Honda dealership to look at an EV before the rules changed, they had an arcade with 4-5 old style games. It was fancy which I’m sure is added to the price

Brilliant but the time limit for acceptance speeches will be severally limited starting now 🤣

Indoor cornhole and a coffee/bake shop based on renders. What better way to occupy young kids for several hours on a rainy Saturday

You aren’t a grinch. You are just well researched and don’t need to be sold something.
