I was thinking the same thing when I read the CATL LFP piece. 470 miles in what vehicle?
Finally! Something i have been speculating about since for the past almost year, has been confirmed! Finally, we have confirmation on battery tech. As expected, we will see PowerCo batteries in the Scout. With VW releasing first in Ducati and the Skoda in the European market, this is big news for the solid star PowerCo/Quantumscape hopeful! https://www.autonews.com/volkswagen/scout/an-scout-battery-source-0907/
Non-paywalled version of the Autonews article. Scott Keogh says, "Scout’s current order book stands at 130,000 to 140,000"!Finally, we have confirmation on battery tech. Oh that’s excellent! The last number I remember hearing was 75,000 at that meeting in Blythewood that someone recorded and posted. I think that was back in February. So that’s about double in 6, 7 months. Wonderful news!Non-paywalled version of the Autonews article. Scott Keogh says, "Scout’s current order book stands at 130,000 to 140,000"!
Thats a pretty good number for a startup. That has some history behind it. Thats about a 1/4 of the total amount of IH scouts made.Non-paywalled version of the Autonews article. Scott Keogh says, "Scout’s current order book stands at 130,000 to 140,000"!

Funny, vacationed in S. Africa a few years ago. Google says they drive on the left side of the road, but I never noticed it. All the vehicles I road in were left side driving (Toyota Land Cruiser truck and SUV), and I could have sworn all the roads were drive on the right hand side. Big country, and we stayed rural and Dutch colonized areas (rather than British or German). Driving on the left side of the road is more of a British thing. While Scout’s body-on-frame platform was engineered and created specifically for U.S. consumers, it can be adapted for right-hand markets such as South Africa and Australia, Keogh said, but he added the brand is focused on successfully launching the Terra and Traveler in the U.S.
most of us think we are the only ones that drive on the right side of the road, with LHD, when really alot of countries do it too.Funny, vacationed in S. Africa a few years ago. Strange. I was there exactly one year ago. The two Toyotas (Fortuner, Corolla Cross) I rented were were both RHD and on every road and city people drove on the left. I was in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Mbombela, Graskop, Sabie, Paarl, and Stellenbosch. Even the Ford Mustangs are RHD.Funny, vacationed in S. Africa a few years ago. No wonder @Jamie@ScoutMotors is happy. SM Community marketing campaign seems to strike the right chord for users. One wonders where that order book will be by mid 2027.Non-paywalled version of the Autonews article. Scott Keogh says, "Scout’s current order book stands at 130,000 to 140,000"!
BAJA!And Daniel Ricciardo is Ford Racings ambassador.. It’s an F1 thing.
If Scout did go this route, what would it potentially be?
Now I just need to know when I’m going to get my Scout. No wonder @Jamie@ScoutMotors is happy. SM Community marketing campaign seems to strike the right chord for users. One wonders where that order book will be by mid 2027.
