Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
We have a new video from scout! Of winter testing!!!! And we get to see the test mules!!!!

They look highly modified bodies.

Our favorite insider said we may get a sneak peak of test mules, but they are literally rolling chassis with roll cages and random car parts slapped together so they wont look anything like the real deal.

Looks like they delivered today!

Turns out the Slate is moot for me since they won't sell to Canada for some reason.

Oh well. Maybe our new government next week will remove the tariffs on Chinese EVs since the US has decided to ignore our long-standing free trade agreement.

Might be a good time to make new more reliable allies and trade with them to get access to a whole bunch of cheaper vehicles instead of the US.
Maybe we can smuggle them over to you like the Canadians did with whiskey for us Americans during prohibition!

Some people thought they were e-bikes at first since their website is kind of vague but there have been some photos taken in NYC of some Amazon vehicles that look like Tuk Tuks you pedal.

Here is a video of one someone took.
I’ve seen similar things (videos, articles, prototypes) over the last few years. Are we sure that’s what “also” is? Seems a bit overhyped if that’s all they’re talking about.

Cool. I’m hoping to do the North America half of the pan America roadtrip in this. I’m also working on visiting all 63 national parks. Either way, by the end, my Traveler will end up being well traveled. : )

There is definitely a market for this. It’s not much more expensive than many side by side UTVs. Lots of governments, universities, security, maintenance, etc could use this. I’m liking it more and more for specific use cases.

Visually I don’t like this but maybe it will spur SM to make a dumbed down 2-door that actually looks good. Do it as a BEV like slate but also do a slightly extended bed version and slide the Harvester under for an extended range. Even if $5K more as a mid level model it would likely sell and look good
