Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. When you say "haptics" are you referring to capacitive buttons with haptic feedback? I don't mind haptic feedback on buttons. Just those capacitive steering wheel buttons are the worst.
They are capacitive.

How does the Lightning handle road tripping in the cold?
We don’t experience the extreme cold where I live like people do in other areas, so I can’t speak with much experience.


Someone from Norway just posted on the F-150 Lightning owners’ forum about their recent trip.

tl;dr:

340 km/210 miles
Temperatures: High: -15 °C/5 °F ; Low: -35 °C/-31 °F
Beginning SOC: 99%
Halfway SOC: 33%
Charged from 33% to 72%
Arrival at home SoC: 16%.
KO3 tires that were sniped and studded, so NOT low-rolling-resistance tires.
Min elevation: 0 feet
Max elevation: 2550 feet
Total elevation change: 16,199 feet.

 
The door handles are very interesting. A great interior for an entry-level car. I love the retro gauges and the tape deck player on the screen.

I feel like they saw how successful the feedback on the Scout was so they just took a bunch of ideas-because hey-they are both under the VWAG umbrella. That said-make a cabrio version and some plaid seats and I’d snatch one up in a heartbeat. It’s a very nice vehicle and those retro touches are very nice!

😹it’s the 100th year celebration for Route 66. It goes through our town. They are already planning celebrations throughout the year.

Someone needs to drive the whole thing in an EV. Maybe @SpaceEVDriver can do it and film as he goes!
 
Out of Spec has several channels with many informative and interesting videos to peruse.

Had Volkswagen removed the steering wheel audio and separate volume controls of all passed vehicle? This article seems to outline these rudimentary elements most manufacturer's are still offering in vehicles. To be clear more physical buttons make for a better balanced interface and user experience.
I think in some cases the steering wheel controls were capacitive touch button, as bad as touch screens.

Yeah. Most of the ID.4 uses capacitive, which is very annoying to use, particularly because they are not backlit so a lot of times at night you end up stabbing at the dash turning things off and on until you find the right thing.

This sounds a little bonkers, but I’m actually thinking of adding some “sticker bumps” that are used for the visually impaired to help me find the buttons in the dark. I’m not sure if they would work with capacitive surfaces but it’s worth a try.

I think VW learned its lesson on this.
 
Yes but what is the energy density/Kg? Isn’t that the only real measure here? If someone can show me a 1kWh/Kg energy density… then I’ll be impressed.
I don't believe there are confirmed numbers yet outside of the test but it looks like based on a 90kWh battery you can expect a battery weight ~580 lbs and a range of 500-600+miles
