Ford’s $30,000 Electric Truck Will Change Everything
Ford’s “Model T moment” may be late, but there are some promising details and plenty to look forward to.insideevs.com
And provide some kind of image as well that is more meaningfulSigh.
I don’t know why Farley called an all-World meeting to present a powerpoint that could have been an email. What an underwhelming…whatever it was.
That photo looks a bit like this.

Same. I don’t think I could ever buy another Ford. Too many issuesI wish my old employer good luck. But I am sticking with Scout as well.
100% agree. All that hype for vaporware. Kinda a bad move by FordMaybe, but only if they actually reveal the truck soon. A 2027 release is fast approaching and if they want an overwhelming response to it, they need to do what Scout and Rivian are doing for their upcoming vehicles. But they need to be doing it now. They should have talked to the Lightning team about how they did their reveal. They’re a big manufacturer, so they can spin things up more quickly than smaller companies can, but they have to decide to do so.
I completely agree and I think it makes a statement to the current admin that the big 3 are still gonna move to EV and since tariffs aren’t helping them this is another big statement toward EV manufacturershonestly the biggest thing is Ford's recommitment to the EV future. I love Scout and don't see myself jumping ship unless they have a generational bag fumble, but Ford has the weight to actually drive change and disruption in the US auto industry. While it doesn't impact Scout directly, it definitely helps widen the roads for EV companies in the future.
My brain went immediately to the “any color you want as long as it’s black” quote. Probably not what they were hoping for eitherExactly.

Slate needed to be $18 to $20k. I’m sorry it’s just too expensive for what it is and by the time you add everything you want you might as well buy something else.As reservation holders for a car that was debuted 3 years before the on-sale date, I can understand why we'd all be upset at not seeing the truck today but this was a bigger strategic announcement. Protectionist tariffs can only help a global company like Ford so much. They either had to have this kind of breakthrough, which will no doubt spread throughout the rest of the company, or give up market share in RoW markets to the Chinese offering better quality vehicles at a lower price.
While we weren't able to see the "Model T" today, what they showed is definitely a Model T moment for the company. Also between this and Maverick, Slate is toast.
The amount of hate people have for the Mustang EV is wild. I think it’ll be similar for the Camaro. But I also expect many people with that attitude to lose it when they feel the acceleration, especially if Chevrolet gets the power right.Camaro as an EV

I think the disappointment comes from the way Ford advertised the event. They had it pasted all over the Lightning and Mustang forums where *customers* exist, but few investors exist. If they had done it as an investor-relations event, it would have made a lot more sense. But they acted like it was going to be interesting to customers. And it is, intellectually, but it’s not an excitement-inducing, "take my money" announcement. As reservation holders for a car that was debuted 3 years before the on-sale date, I can understand why we'd all be upset at not seeing the truck today but this was a bigger strategic announcement. I think a big part of the hate for the Mustang EV is that it’s an SUV. So many people felt betrayed that they took the sports car name and heritage and did that with it. I saw lots of people saying if they had named it almost anything else they’d have been fine with it and possibly bought one, but they hated that Ford was pretending the SUV could be a Mustang. It would be like if they took the Scout name and made the equivalent of a Geo Metro with it.The amount of hate people have for the Mustang EV is wild. I think it’ll be similar for the Camaro. I get that. But I bought it specifically because it’s a Mustang.I think a big part of the hate for the Mustang EV is that it’s an SUV. Did they have some sort of presentation or something? All I see is a couple short videos on their YouTube channel. Is there a link?100% agree. All that hype for vaporware. Kinda a bad move by Ford
I would like to say the suspense is killing me. But, I believe it is killing them. I don't understand their current release mentality.Maybe, but only if they actually reveal the truck soon. This is chevy moving fast because they know if they don't have a car thats suitable and equivalent to the Camaro now. Nascar wont let them race or use the Camaro design. Because thats the rules.Camaro as an EV

Release schedule for cars suck nowadays. Due to 3 things. R&D, Crash Test, and finally over engineering parts that are ment to be simpleI would like to say the suspense is killing me. But, I believe it is killing them. I don't understand their current release mentality.
As a current Escape owner who loves it very much it’s sad to see it go but Ford does have plans for a new one. Also I understand why it needed to since the plant needs to be retooled for the new assembly line. I am excited for what Ford has in store. It’s good for competition amongst all brandsLittle more info
