What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Oh I get it. I reserved on reveal day 15 months ago. I think we are all hoping for something special when the vehicles launch. Special launch edition. A special launch color. Pictures of our Scouts being built on the line. Special merch for forum members when we pick up our Scouts. Factory pick up event. It’s going to be fun to see what SM comes up with.

And what we have is a reservation. At some point we will get invited to place our order and when we do our choice will be locked in. I can’t wait!
Same, just waiting for that moment to lock it in and officially place the order and have an official countdown until we pick up our Scout!

I would like mechanical controls for lights. We have purchased a Blazer EV and the most irking thing from a driver perspective is headlight control only available via the infotainment system. I do not like automatic headlights. There are actually a lot of new vehicle features that I never use. I will never use the autonomous driving function, even though Chevy's Super cruise was labeled as the best last year. Heating and cooling seats are only required if they are leather or faux leather; I would like cloth seats and eliminate that problem altogether.

Welcome to the community!

This will be the year we will find out more about what Scouts will come with and option with.

No high beams within "city" limits - but they generally put the auto on at 30 or 35mph. Given most small towns often have the police set at the city limits when the speed limit drops below 55, that means every town is a trap - both going in and leaving. There are small towns about 1 out of every 10 miles - so every 10 minutes on average I seem to have to override.

With my current vehicle Auto-high-beam can be turned on/off. Now, if you want to use it once you are out of the city it can be turned back on. But, it is a menu item. Not a pushbutton function, so kinda a PITA. Maybe with the Scout one of those auxiliary switches left of the steering-wheel could be setup (programmed) to toggle the feature on/off. First I have heard about city limits high use laws.

Every GM, Ford, Ram, and Rivian I have driven that have auto highbeams aren’t speed based, they’re based on light facing the car (headlights tail lights street lights or even your own headlights reflecting off the back of a sign or glass pane) will cause them to deactivate. If the car determines the road ahead to be dark and empty enough the high beams will turn on regardless of speed

Combination. Low until a certain speed - light based after that. At least my home town does not have enough street lights or reflectors to trigger the light based auto low beams. Need to water cows tonight - will be manual going out of town, use auto till I get to my county road - then back to manual as I don't go fast enough on the county road or my ranch road to trigger the high-beams.

At least the Ford and Jeep are easy enough to go manual - Just have to remember if I am on the second to last setting (manual) or last. Don't know how often in the last month I have gone dark after switching to the second to the third setting.
---
This is our second JL. First did not really matter if we were on low beam - the poorly designed LED's had so much spill every oncoming vehicle thought we had highs on and would flash us anyway. I guess auto helped, at least then sometimes oncoming traffic would realize we dimmed rather than were running dim. Love my VW's lights, till I have to fix them - can not drive at night at the moment, a $1500 light is currently dead.

It’s crazy to me how much a headlight costs. There’s something to be said to being able to just change the bulb in your old car.

Ya a $1,500 headlamp is a real pain point. Yikes.

Same with Hondas

CENTER SEAT HEAD RESTS!!!!!!!
Dangerous center seat!

Please pass this to those that can make changes.

Both Scouts look awesome! I want a Scout truck with the flat bench (finally), and possibly the suv,
HOWEVER,
I probably won’t unless this gets fixed. Also once this safety hazard is realized by the public it will likely prevent some sales, like it has for GM, and others. Many friends bought Ford expeditions, like me, over the GM Yukon or Tahoe because there is no center head rest.

I noticed you guys did not have head rests that can be raised in the center seats. That is extremely dangerous for the person riding in the center seat. High risk for breaking one’s neck in an accident. I’ve worked in trauma cases for this very reason. Honestly it should not be allowed legally.

Ford, Honda, and some others provide a small, raisable, even removable center headrest, that when down still offers a clear line of site. I know some manufacturers don’t put them in because of line of site. This makes zero sense. When someone is sitting in the center, that line of site is gone, and now with a high risk for neck injury. It’s simple, place a small raisable head rest like several of the manufacturers, a simple fix that can save someone’s life.

Hopefully this gets passed to those that can make this simple paralytic sparing, lifesaving fix. Please fix it, even if I don’t get one. Manufacturers should not be allowed to produce seats without them.

Welcome to the community. Thanks for your input. SM does read what we post. Also just an FYI, it’s been stated that the concepts are 85% of what we will see in the production vehicles. We don’t know what all the changes will be, but there will be some.
