Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Scout maybe 4 years into development, but then have yet to announce they are behind their original schedule. On the unveiling day - they said that production vehicles would start rolling off the line at the end of 2027 and be going to consumers shortly afterwards. The only update we have heard is that they are targeting consumers in early 2028 - which is inline with late 2027 production.

While there are probably countless milestones, the real one I am hoping for is the first production line test vehicles - which last published is still on track for later this year.

This is a joke right?

Rogue series hybrid. Offers one pedal driving. 1.67 kilowatt-hour battery. No plugging in. 3-cylinder engine can bypass batteries and directly power the motors. The engine supposedly has 42% thermal efficiency.

Good band aid approach to convert buyers to EV as it will pick up again in a couple of years

R4! What’s that going to look like?

No idea but kind of sounds like a cut to quality in a way. Or lower margins but how much savings can they really negotiate when you compare against SM leveraging power with VW with much larger supply/use opportunities?

Biggest selling points are no suck-ass CVT or awful variable compression engine from the regular Rogue.
That was always Nissans Achilles heal. Love my old pathfinder but the couple sedans we had didn’t love the CVT but at least they used timing chains. We almost bought a Murano years ago and considered the Armada but the CVT in the Murano and the absolute gas guzzler of the Armada just killed both for us.

Curious to see where this goes and how EV makers get around the interference issues.
Why does government need to force this? Emergency broadcasts go out on all types of media-this seems like another effort to hamstring EV growth.

The push to keep AM radio is more political than most people realize. It’s not needed to get emergency alerts out as EMAs can push notifications through calls (land and cell), SMS messaging, social media, emails and FM/AM radio.

The reason there’s a push to keep AM radio is the number of political and religious talk shows that utilize AM to push their messages. These groups are lobbying to keep the bands as they want to remain relevant and do not want to have to compete on other platforms.
