I just DO NOT want the windshield sprayers integrated into them. By far the one thing I hate most on jeeps. In the winter (when I need it most) any snow on the hood prevents them from workingWhat if I promise not to tie anything heavy to them?![]()
Agree but with anything design based, there are always fundamentals which I’d hope SM prevents until folks get them out in the real world. But as my old boss always said. “There’s an ass for every seat”. And I still wonder if it was intentionally said as a play on wordsBut what’s “bad” to you may not be “bad” to someone else. I think all red interior are terrible, even with black and white exteriors. Who am I to say what someone should select?
Similar but same experiences and happy for each other we even saw family in NYC which was great as wellChanging the topic for a minute.
Whenever I look for Scout events I always am hoping for events close to my home.
I’ve had a shift in thinking. Last year when we went to Nats we stayed in Columbus, Ohio. A city I would most likely have never visited. Our hotel was across the street from North Market. A 150 year old market full of vendors including excellent BBQ and Mexican food and fabulous gluten free cupcakes. We ate every meal at that market during our trip.
We saw Springfield Ohio and the Navistar Semi truck plant. I know I never would have visited a working semitruck plant. They had tours of the plant in addition to all the OG Scouts and that was where I met my first forum members. Hi @Colton_Scout80 and @Tuff66. We met Chris@ScoutMotors and he was so kind and answered as many of my pesky questions as he could.
Then we went on our Chicago trip. There I met @Jamie@ScoutMotors and @CP1@scoutmotors.
Our most recent trip, we drove through states we have never driven through. We had an adventure. Yes we got to see the plant and the Traveler, but we also saw parts of Blythewood and Columbia, SC. We took a morning and walked around the SC State Capitol complex. There’s an African American history museum there and many, many statues around the grounds. We found a nearby farmers market and walked blocks through all the vendors who were selling drinks in pineapples and fresh coconut water still in the coconut. We went to a General Store that was over 100 years old. I got my very first parking ticket.
I’m now looking forward to more Scout events. We don’t even have my Traveler yet but she already has me looking forward to our next adventure.![]()
I put an aftermarket hitch on my Pilot as well. Not for towing, but for my receiver-mounted bike rack. Which makes me think how far out a bike rack would have to sit to clear the rear spare tire.We added one to our Honda Pilot because they didn’t have any with hitches that we wanted with other features. Added some cost but looked like factory when we picked it up. Then we got rid of it-only ever used it twice but was glad to have it. So it should be possible
My very first car was a Buick Skyhawk. It was a silver hatchback with an all red and white interior - like riding in a red velvet cake! But what’s “bad” to you may not be “bad” to someone else. I'm pretty certain that we will see a new trailer hitch set-up/configuration with production. How does one attach a pin here? The surround could be removable to make that possible, but it still appears that the hitch receiver is sitting too flush with the bumper cover to be functional. There is also no apparent way to remove the cover (if it is removable) that I see.Another view of the hitch. The bumper looks modular. I’m hoping that means those of us who don’t tow will be able to order without the hitch. Living in Illinois, to me that’s just one more piece to eventually rust as that will be covered in salty slush every winter.

Rivian's hitch receiver sits too close to the bumper assembly (with the bumper cover off). Good cue for Scout to be aware of. What I would really like to see is the Terra with a hitch installed in the receiver. Not sure if we have seen that yet!

Traveler hitch from a slightly different angle.
This also shows that the beauty cover is not yet fully designed. There’s no electrical plug. Whatever they’re going to do will be different from this.

And here’s a view of the Terra hitch:
Again, there’s no electrical connection or cutout, which means these concepts aren’t complete. That’s no surprise, but still good to remember.
And, as you note, the lock pin hole is in a really bad location for actual use.

For those that prefer scraping your bikes off on garages, parking decks and drive-thrus, Scout might have a motorized bike rack solution for you!I put one of these on my R1T for running my 1-Up MTB rack... When the rack is folded up against the tailgate, it keeps the racks away from the paint, and makes the rack easier to take on and off:

Ditto. No way I'm putting any bike over my glass roof. Not to mentioned drag...I've carried bikes on roof racks and on hitch racks. I know I'm being unreasonable; but, I prefer to put my $x,000 carbon bikes behind, or better yet "IN" the vehicle.
I’m a mountain biker and don’t like the bike mounted on top. I’d much prefer behind the spare tire. For those that prefer scraping your bikes off on garages, parking decks and drive-thrus, Scout might have a motorized bike rack solution for you!

Alternately, if you put your bike up top on a glass roof, there is less danger of forgetting it's up there and going through a McD's drive thru and scraping your bike off. I may have ripped a saddle this way... allegedly.Ditto. No way I'm putting any bike over my glass roof. Not to mentioned drag...

Is this a real thing? From Scout? or an aftermarket idea? I can see a sliding, tilting roof rack as much more practical than a garbage truck dumpster tipper-type rig. Especially with a tall vehicle. I was always standing on tires and door jams to put bikes, skis, and surfboards up on my Pathfinder racks. For those that prefer scraping your bikes off on garages, parking decks and drive-thrus, Scout might have a motorized bike rack solution for you!

Based on the years I biked a lot I would have loved this. Granted I had an Acura wagon so I could just reach to load from the ground but on the scouts this is a very clever load and carry solution. As I’ve said before, just put an orange cone in front of garage door to remind yourself when you get homeFor those that prefer scraping your bikes off on garages, parking decks and drive-thrus, Scout might have a motorized bike rack solution for you!

With quick release front wheel inside makes total sense if by yourself. And Scout should have plenty of spaceI've carried bikes on roof racks and on hitch racks. I know I'm being unreasonable; but, I prefer to put my $x,000 carbon bikes behind, or better yet "IN" the vehicle.
Funny we all like different. With the wagon the roof was much better but I also did t have a hitch.I’m a mountain biker and don’t like the bike mounted on top. I’d much prefer behind the spare tire.
