What's the weight capacity of the roof rack that houses the satellite connection? Will the signal be interrupted if the device is covered?

Yea, but I’m hoping to get by without the tire carrier too. I suppose fitting in a compact spot is too much to askIt would be interesting to see how it can mount without a rack. You may still need some cross bars or an adhesive mount to fit it on the roof.
...or maybe you could mount a telescoping pole to the panel on the tire carrier.

I am also curious what they come up with or the integrated system. But if your use is occasional as in the above, you can just use the AC power plugs on your Scout to power the regular Starlink that your buddy purchased (along with the PA system, etc).So I ran my annual archery tournament this weekend-146th year, my 6th year. It was hosted in Delaware about 40 minutes from the east coast beach at a sportsman’s club with virtually no internet or connectivity. We were running 20 tablets for scoring and my buddy purchased a starlink satellite system to run the event. The system worked awesome-HOWEVER it also required a gas generate for the power to do all the other work-so tons of noise and occasional gas fumes/exhaust smells which went all weekend and eventually you got used to it. Also ran 2 speakers that are rechargeable but man-all weekend (and said it outloud twice) that if I had the scout we could literally turn on the starlink in the roof rack, plug into the vehicle and we could have just enjoyed the music and the arrow flinging. So now I’m wondering how much the satellite link setup will cost because this weekend’s experience made me find myself understanding more of what that system can offer. And presuming the panel/ processor/ receiver (or whatever it’s called) is similar in size he said we could probably run nearly 200 devices. Just opened up a world of opportunities

I really hope they figure out how to get 240VAC out of the Traveller. I understand there may be physical space limitations for the plug. I am completely fine with an adapter that had an L15 or L6 plug on the end.

Maybe Scout could do something similar and integrate it into the hood where it won't be blocked by cargo on the roof.

I want Space EV to comment on space debris and The Kessler Syndrome (and how real or imminent it could be)... I wonder what would happen if we lost GPS connectivity randomly around the globe - seems like we would have travel, security, occupational and other "issues"!
The Kessler Syndrome
Spent rockets, satellites and other space trash have accumulated in orbit increasing the likelihood of collision with other debris. Unfortunately, collisions create more debris creating a runaway chain reaction of collisions and more debris known as the Kessler Syndrome after the man who first proposed the issue, Donald Kessler. It is also known as collisional cascading.
This cascade of collisions first came to NASAs attention in the 1970’s when derelict Delta rockets left in orbit began to explode creating shrapnel clouds. Kessler demonstrated that once the amount of debris in a particular orbit reaches critical mass, collision cascading begins even if no more objects are launched into the orbit. Once collisional cascading begins, the risk to satellites and spacecraft increases until the orbit is no longer usable.
Kessler proposed it would take 30 to 40 years for such a threshold to be reached and today, some experts thing we are already at critical mass in low-Earth orbit at about 560 to 620 miles (900 to 1,000 kilometers).

Sounds good on paper, but with the sheer amount of debris existing (and being created), not sure how effective that would be. Yeah, so much stuff is launching nowadays, it'd be a losing battle. I remember reading something a year or two ago that noted a number of specific space junk items that were the most dangerous. Feels like we need some sort of massive / rocket-boostered "space blanket" sweeper to "catch" multiple particles and pieces of debris, then re-direct them all "in bulk"... Then sweep again... Anyone want to invest in my new company to clean-up Outerspace? Dang. Didn't think so.
