  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Just because I want steel bumpers doesn’t mean I want a winch!
I do understand the inverse might not be true though. You might have to take the steel bumpers if you want a winch since there isn't a plastic bumper design that works with the winch. I can't select the power sunroof cover if I don't select the sunroof, haha.

Exactly, but I love my steel bumpers on my Jeep. I don’t worry about putting stuff in and out of the car and accidentally hitting the bumper. I can’t hurt them.

Or "that's only available in the Executive Package"

Looking back over old vehicle build sheets just pisses me off nowadays. Orders are done electronically. Vehicle builds and supply lines are controlled electronically. If they can have a Terra BEV on the line, followed by a Harvester EREV, there's no reason they can't install a bench seat without installing a completely-unrelated sunroof. The computers and supply chain can put the right parts in the right order for assembly without any more hassle, so stop trying to screw the customer by forcing packages on us. Just because I want heated seats doesn't mean I want ski storage bags or headlight washers! Just because I want lockers doesn't mean I want a winch and skid plates. Done ranting, for now. This is a good chance for Scout to break the mold.
Exactly but options are the profit center so I get it-I just don’t like it

This is not entirely true, since implementing certain parts batching techniques for OEM production creates greater efficiency on the assembly line and frees up valuable floor space.

But you can have it both ways. Scout has talked about its accessory building. You could kit-out trucks in batches based on common configurations then have accessories handled outside of assembly (if the accessory parts were included in a factory build, like a winch installation for example).

Rivian employed similar techniques building core truck configurations, then, in some cases, even shipping accessories like rubberized floor mats or racks directly to the consumer. So, you could get your heated seat and add OEM ski racks at home. I'm guessing that this also ties into parts availability and 3rd parties who may be licensed to produce OEM parts on behalf of the manufacturer.

Ahh you will have to wait. It’s not as obvious as what I had initially planed. Actually I got one and changed my mind and got a different one.
Mine is not real obvious either…
