What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Was bummed when I got my accord (top trim line) and no homelink. Now I have the remotes clipped on visor which I just don’t like
My sons Elantra didn’t have it but you can change out the mirror. I think it was like $400 and he now has it built into the mirror.

My bolt is the first new vehicle I’ve had that doesn’t have homelink, it was recommended to get some 3M sticky pad and hid the remote under the center cubby area, I instead chose to buy a Apple home pod, myQ, and Meross kit. So I can use the iPhone and CarPlay to control the door, it works 98% of the time which is better than our actual remotes

I am confident that Homelink will be included on the Scouts. Now I may get thrown out of here for saying this but I really like having the Homelink buttons on the screen. I know, but stay with me for a second. In my Tesla, the car knows the GPS location where the Homelink was programmed. It then remembers that and presents the button prominently on the screen when you are getting near that door. I say this as someone that has remote gates and garage doors at multiple locations. The way Tesla handles this is that I don't need 6 different buttons somewhere. The car automatically displays the gate and door of the property that I am approaching and hides the others.

CarPlay works very similarly, and honestly i really enjoy it, jut not the Apple part

If it did that and popped up large that would be fine. If it linked to the red easy button on the steering wheel that would work too

Hmmm, I have the MyQ app on my iphone but it doesn't show up in carplay... Do I need to enable that somewhere?

I love geofencing! Got to play with that my last year at Time Warner...

Unfortunately it’s more complicated, myQ can talk to Meross, which has an Apple home kit device that can be used in CarPlay as long you’re close by or you have an Apple home, with a home pod or Apple TV. Because I refuse to put a barely functional remote in my car I deal with, it also kind works with Samsung smart things but but it’s very unreliable, compared to Apple.

Sweet setup! I could talk at length about IoT, but I’ll leave it with this…
My Liftmaster myQ straight up quit working. The opener works fine, but the myQ functionality no longer syncs or works. If money were no issue, I would replace it with a Genie or something else that isn’t locking down their infrastructure to an ad-riddled proprietary app, falsely in the name of cybersecurity.
I like that Meross works with HomeKit, but I don’t like that it’s constantly pinging Chinese servers [see articles about botnets & DDoS attacks from IoT devices]. I only have one Meross light strip and fortunately it still works fine with HomeKit after I blocked its access to the internet.

So with some of the motion accent lighting in our new Lexus I had a great idea. There should be an upper dash projection light facing on the windshield (like HUD) but should have selectable images like a hula dancer, animal bobble heads, sonny angels, maybe a fountain image. Would be fun at night to have a retro looking hula dancer slowly swaying. Just a thought

I love it.

So long lead in here for a question and geared more for the EV owners on the forum. I road tripped from Lancaster PA to E. Lansing MI for daughter’s archery. We took my Accord as it was 8-1/2 hours driving and a 1 hour stop for eating and potty breaks. I know our new Lexus and almost all EV’s have charging and can route plan but has anyone/any manufacturer offered a route planner that looks at times, assumes lunch/dinner times and calculates stops for charging with meal time to make the best use of charging stops. Like-hey, here are 5 chargers within 2 miles of your route that are also with 600 feet of a restaurant/food source and not just a charger stop. Teaming up with chain and/or local restaurants (my preferred choice) would be a better way to help trace with EVs. Could even offer EV charger ONLY and…. EV and Eat combos to help with the trip planning. Just a thought but maybe this already exists. I know I can route plan for EV charge, ballpark my stop then go on Google Maps and search restaurants near by but one stop shop would be a convenient feature if not already happening

That’s a great idea and if it doesn’t exist it should.

So good news - Most EV Chargers are intentionally located with the understanding that people will be more likely to use them IF there are amenities nearby. This is very true with Rivian's RAN charger locations, but I also find it to be true with EA, Tesla and many others.

Also, when route planning, you can elect to charge at stops with food nearby simply by checking the map screen, but there are some helpful apps to consider when planning routes that may be unfamiliar. Plugshare for example will provide very specific info with reviews talking about food and displaying information about nearby locations:

Most of the chargers I know already have great food options nearby, so I don't even worry about it.

The RAN in NH has a Dunks and I am always there at first light, so use it for coffee.
The RAN I hit in VT above has a secret little scratch kitchen around the back.
There's a RAN in DE at Christiana Mall with a Cheesecake Factory, PF Changs, Tios Tacos, a Tavern and a foodcourt.

So, you will likely be in good shape (or at a minimum pull into a WAWA)! LOL.
