What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

    Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

    How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

    Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

    So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
What? You "tried to be one of the good ones"?!? Not, you "were one of the good ones"? What does that mean?

I'm not getting a warm fuzzy feeling here @maynard . :p

Mostly I was just joking... But...

Sometimes I had to participate in projects I objected to while most were fun and challenging.

e.g. Leprecon Lighting = fun;
Motorola Iridium = challenging and objections over some government stuff;
3Com = back to fun and challenging;
Time Warner = fun, challenging, but new objections over user subscriptions etc.

I'm not sure if this has been discussed or not (could not find it with the search function), so pardon me if it has. I would really hope that there is the ability to pivot these windows open for a fresh breeze similar to the autos of before. See the circle in the photo.

Welcome to the community! Apparently that was discussed in the past. @J Alynn has been on here pretty much since the beginning and he said that they asked that very question and for various reasons it was not possible. So regular windows modern windows will be on our Scouts.

Thanks for posting! One of my mottos is to ask the questions. We may not get the answers that we want but I’m always glad to have asked the question because you never know where it will lead.

Welcome again. There’s tons of info on here so have fun!

Welcome to the community. Per @cyure we did indeed request this early on and were told it wasn’t likely to happen which is a bummer. We also tried for hi-beam floor button but that was a no go as well. Keep enjoying all the forum has to offer

Given Scout’s electric-first platform with an onboard gas generator (EREV), there’s a strong opportunity to introduce a surf- and coastal-lifestyle–focused trim that leverages quiet electric driving while maintaining extended range for long coastal travel. This trim would prioritize saltwater durability, beach access, and real lifestyle utility rather than extreme rock crawling, with features such as an integrated locking surfboard rack, sand-optimized drive modes, corrosion-resistant components, marine-grade hose-out flooring with drain channels, waterproof seating, wetsuit storage, and rear power outlets supported by the onboard generator. The interior experience could be enhanced with adaptive ambient lighting modes tuned to the time of day—soft, warm tones for sunrise, neutral daylight lighting during the day, golden hues for sunset, and low-glare, calming lighting at night—to support early-morning surf sessions and relaxed evening use. To reinforce authenticity, Scout could collaborate with a respected surfboard shaper to create a limited-run board designed specifically for this trim, included as a delivery accessory or optional package. Positioned as a coastal lifestyle alternative to traditional off-road trims, this concept would resonate strongly in markets like Florida, California, Hawaii, and Australia while reinforcing Scout’s “go farther” positioning in a differentiated and culturally relevant way.

Welcome to the community! That sounds amazing. It sounds like something you would see at SEMA and I really like the idea of the matching surf board.

Welcome again!

Thanks for posting your thoughts and welcome to the community. Love the thought but FYI-no intent currently to export to Australia. But a cool pastel coastal color scheme would also be nice-maybe not the typical blue but a sunset coral color.

I wouldn't call the subscription model a problem, I would call it "easy to abuse".

There are several features I can understand paying a subscription for in a car. I don't object to paying for a subscription where it makes sense - for example I pay for a XM radio subscription in my car. If I wanted a feature that requires cell service, I would not object to paying a subscription for that. The problem is when they require a subscription for a feature that doesn't require an external service. Subscriptions to use something that is already in the car (heated seats, extra performance boost, that sort of thing) are just abusing the system as far as I'm concerned.
If I have to pay a subscription for the heated seats, I’m not buying the vehicle.

XM or Onstar is different, but not heated seats!

3 ideas for Scout:

1. Offer factory delivery with a factory tour and off road driving course. I did this with BMW in Spartanburg and it was fantastic.
2. Every new Scout owner should receive a scaled die cast Scout in their new car's colorway (at least body wheels and interior colors) in the glove box at delivery. This way, you have the scaled version of your new Scout forever after you sell it or if it gets totaled.
3. There should be an option or maybe it's just standard for every Scout, that the tires have raised white lettering. This will be cool and it's back in vogue. This speaks to the muscle car, hot rod DNA that everyone has whether they know it or not.

Please make sure the cargo cover is storable in the Traveller. Personally, I think the retractable shade version is better that the formed resin/ paper version. It's smaller when retracted so should be easier to store.

That’s a good question. Are we getting a cargo cover? I’m so used to not having one in the Jeep I didn’t even think about it.

With all the good window tinting is this really necessary. It's the second thing I remove from my new vehicles, right after taking out the carpet mats and placing the all weather rubber ones in the vehicle. Beach sand. :)

I prefer a cargo cover for security reasons. A frunk will help negate that need, but it's nice to have.

There is every intent to have factory delivery. If you use search button feature you’ll see a lot of what’s been discussed already. Diecasts would be cool. Early on we even suggested signed “artwork” of our specific scouts rendered to match and signed by the design team and included as a perk if you do factory delivery. (BMW was amazing experience for me as well then took my daughter for teen driving school when she was 17-she absolutely loved it and left a much better driver-we plan on doing it together in a few years so we can be in same car together experiencing it).
As for the white lettering-an option would be nice or have the KO3’s come with one side full black and other white lettered so they can reverse mount as an option for those wanting that look. Having seen them in person I wouldn’t want the lettering so as an option would be great. I like that look on some SUVs but on the Scout I wouldn’t like it.
