What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
There are some comfort creatures that I have grown to love in current cars.

Adaptable headlights, rain sensing wipers, heated and ventilated seats.

But one feature I love is simply being able to walk away from the car and it automatically locking.

What feature would you like to see?
I've gotten very used to having a HUD. Wouldn't want to go back to having to look down all of the time.

A really smart one would be "Check ins" or "Base Camp Mode".

If you go for a 3 hour hike in an area with poor cell reception you could drop a pin with the destination youre heading to, but if you dont return to the Scout within a set period of time, the Scout can use the satellite comms to text your family or emergency services and send the coordinates of your Truck as well as where you were heading to.

This could save hundreds of lives.

Brilliant. Would have saved one hiker his arm 😲. Maybe?

Seriously though. This would be amazing. Call it recovery mode or search and rescue mode. You could set it when you know your rough time frame. General trail hike-not likely to have issue but in any scenario this would be great.
Wonder if you could offer a pet collar as well so if out with your best friend and they get lost it could ping right to the car and or connect an app on phone if dog is chipped or already has a tracking collar

Would love to see Apple CarPlay or a really nice user friendly music interface. Something that’s easy to use and not to complicated. I like to be off my phone as much as possible when driving so the easier and reliable the better!

CarPlay has been seen in the CES videos so pretty sure it’s in the final package

BTW. Anyone ever wonder if Rivian and other EV companies are on here taking all these great ideas?
I've wondered that myself. I assume they are. I have one idea that I think might be patentable that I haven't mentioned because of that. Thought about telling Jamie directly, though I haven't gotten around to it.. Perhaps I should poke around and find the PM button.

I guess the upside of mentioning these ideas publicly is that it prevents them from being patented by anyone...I think (I'm not an IP attorney). On the other side, if SM can get patents on some unique ideas I imagine it would increase the chance of them investing the time and money into implementing them.

Years ago my dad had ideas. Best thing you can do early on before speaking is type it all up in as much detail as possible. Then mail two copies to yourself so envelope is sealed and date stamped. Then if it does get developed or you share and someone screws you you can take sealed copy to an attorney. My dad did the two copies in separate envelops so he’d always have a back up copy
