What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Agree. I cringe wondering what they cost when they fail and/or what happens when one function breaks-do the others still work? They do add a ton of versatility based on various truck uses-but I fear all the extra parts that can break. At my age-anything to make it easier to get up and into a truck bed is welcomed 🤣
My mom has one of the earlier iterations on her 2010 F250. I has been used A LOT on the farm and saved many an ankle from jumping down into a divit or hole created by the wild hogs. Her truck has close to 300k miles on it now and shes still using it in her late 60's. She wouldnt be able to do most of the things she does on the farm without it.

There is a flap that goes over it when its closed and part of the plastic trim piece that sits on it has since flown off. But it still functions well.

I have never seen forum megathreads complaining about constant failures or recalls for tailgate steps breaking. Probably more of a psychological thing if someone is worried its too complex or prone to failures.

Some great insight. Thanks for the posting.

Thanks! I think of how many rusty tail gates I’ve seen and less in modern day vehicles but I just worry that tailgates seem to take a lot of abuse but as I’ve noted, no fight in the game for Terra but if more function works it makes the Terra that much more user friendly

Boy they sure do! Gotta love when people leave them down and back into things. lol

Honestly my biggest concern would be it getting stolen in a parking lot and having to shell out for a replacement.
Its a big problem here in Texas and usually

People steal tailgates? What are they doing with them?
Yep

They steal tail lights too.

Its big business. They steal them and sell them online or to shady body shops.

The tail lights can sell for over $1,000.

Some tailgates cost around $10,000 to replace.

I think adjustable pedals would be nice (similar to F-150). Sometimes I find if I get a good distance for my legs when driving then I'm reaching too far for the wheel even when that is adjusted outwards. Maybe I have a weird body shape or driving style but sometimes bringing the pedals out would be a nice way to get a comfy driving position.

I have had only one vehicle with adjustable pedals and it was handy. Can't say I really miss it. I know my wife would like it because she tends to like her seating position high and with the telescope steering wheel all the way out; and often complains about pedal position. I was unaware the F150 had adjustable pedals. Thanks for that tidbit.

And how about an adjustable dead pedal. I would really like that.

That’s the key. If you want your body orientation balanced you need to offer that if the pedals adjust. I don’t know the best way but if you can’t get them aligned it eventually throws off your body and creates pain over time
