What are you driving until release?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
I had a 2012 Touareg diesel, same chassis and engine. What a fantastic highway warrior, I got 700 miles on a tank going coast to coast (and 550 miles on a tank cruising at 95-105 during the early days of Covid through Wyoming and Utah, when nobody was on the roads).
Yes, I'm about 700 miles per tank. We are moving about 250 miles away from where we live now, so are back and forth about weekly getting the house lined up/etc so it's nice to do that at 30+MPG.

It'll be even better when the first 150 is on electric and I'm only using gas for the last 80 miles each way with the harvester!

While I’m not driving one I ended up behind a Lucid Air tonight on way home. Sort of a silvery white and I have to say that is a beautiful car. The simplicity of shapes but intricacy of taillight lenses and light ribbons is just beautiful. I’ve seen a few over the past year from a distance but never up close. I hope the final detailing on the scouts pays attention to those little details.

They really are gorgeous, and they even made mini-vans sexy with the Gravity.

Yeah-been watching those too and you are right they are more mini van then suv. Aren’t they pushing the CUV angle?
I am honestly not sure what to categorize them as.

Its like a stretched CUV. Very mini-van-ish too. But the air suspension option gives it more ground clearance than a TRD Pro Sequoia so it also could be an SUV, at least in my eyes.

Fantasized about a Turbo'd Honda Odyssey for years and the Gravity would blow that away by every metric.

Maybe we can call it a Super-Van

Well unfortunately Swagger wagon is taken but I agree-the gravity is just a combo of all three. It looks good too-curious how sales will go. It really looks like best of both worlds-functions like a MV but looks like SUV so people don’t get stereotyped

Ford lightning. Our lease is up right as these should be coming out. We have to decide if we are going to trade it or keep it. Its such a great truck its going to be hard to part with it. The scout had some big shoes to fill but the harvester is too good to pass up. Time will tell

Welcome to the forum Matthew

You are in good company. @SpaceEVDriver is also a Lightning owner and has been kind enough to share their experience and adventures with us.

Lots of first time EV buyers here so also be sure to introduce yourself and your ride in the “We are EV owners, ask us anything” thread. It’s been really helpful to ask current EV owners about all kinds of questions and has a lot of us considering switching our reservations from the Harvester to the full BEV models.

Thanks for posting. Curious if you like the lightning why are you looking at an EREV?

Welcome to the forum!

I'm considering leasing a Lightning for 3 years to get me through to when my Scout arrives. Thinking about taking advantage of the incentives before the federal tax credit ends on 9/30. My state has a $7,500 rebate that can be stacked on top of the federal credit, so I'm looking at $15,000 off the price right now.

Does your truck have the 9.6 kW onboard power option? If so, have you used it to back up your house in a power outage situation?

Scout. “People. Connections. Community. Authenticity." Welcome to the Scout community. Enjoy the ride. 🛻 🚙
Remember the built in search on the forums is a great place to start getting answers to your many questions. 😀

I just got another BMW iX to take advantage of remaining incentives before they expire. I got one that was already in the US prior to BMW’s tariff related price increase. I would have kept my old one, but the total deal was just too good to pass up.

That is a very nice EV. So.......what are you going to do with it once your Scout is built? :)

Oh that’s awesome. What color did you get?

That’s a great question. I’m still concerned about the width of the Scout fitting in my driveway. It has walls that will make it very difficult to open the doors. The iX is already tight. I hope the production model hits a little trimming here and there. If that doesn’t work out, I’m looking forward to seeing the production BMW iX3 and other Neue Klasse models.

Sapphire black with Amido interior. It wasn’t my first choice. I wanted Space Silver, but I would have had to wait and it would have been about $10000 more due to loss of incentives. I could t justify that just for color. My old one was Storm Bay, which is a great color.
