Trying to understand size, especially interior.

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Thanks, I will search your old threads! I was thinking about Terra vs. other full size trucks. I currently drive a Sierra 1500 and just trying to visualize it better. I think it's a couple inches smaller all the way around, but I just like having a visualization of it.
It’s been mentioned on here it’s the same size as a Ford F-150.

Has anyone done an image overlay/side by side comparison with images? I know all the dimensions are out there, but I need a visual to comprehend it and I'm too dumb to be able to do it myself.

Scout Motors. “People. Connections. Community. Authenticity." Welcome to the Scout community. Enjoy the ride. 🛻 🚙
Remember the built in search on the forums is a great place to start getting answers to your many questions. 😀

FWIW - Sitting inside a F-150 compared to the R1T feels much more spacious (as it should). The R1T feels just slightly bigger than a Tacoma double cab interior, for comparison, but the F-150 is noticeably more spacious, being Full-sized...

If you were to drive the R1T and then a F-150, you will feel the extra space. The R1T feels more refined, drives better and is comfortable if you like bolstering. The R1T does provide excellent headroom, but the extended cab space on the R1T with the gear tunnel (see pic below) & shorter bed length limit the space a bit more from back to front, so there is less legroom in the R1T for back seat passengers compared to the F-150. The back seats in the R1T do flip-up & forward. They have storage compartments underneath also.

All of this is to say that if you were cross-shopping a R1T, had a big family with LARGE teenagers for example, and you were planning for those large teenagers to spend a lot of time in your new truck, or if you were using the truck for work and planning to haul a crew, the Scout Terra will feel much bigger than the R1T - especially when riding in the back seats.
