  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Around here they will just laugh in your face and say, "Thats fine. The next person will buy it."
At which point I just tell them good luck with that and leave. Last sales engagement I terminated like that was in December and it gave me great pleasure seeing several voicemails on my phone from that guy trying to make a deal. No thanks, already bought something else.

I’m just so glad I don’t have to deal with any of that with my Scout. Thank goodness.

I was expecting it would get removed anyways. The only thing I'm weary of is if another administration comes in and introduces them again after I've purchased (this happened when I bought my Tesla in 2022) which would be very annoying. It currently says $50,000 with incentives for Traveler and $51,500 for Terra so I assume now it will be $57,500 and $59,000 with the credits gone. Only thing it might impact for me is the spec I end up getting. I'm hoping to not spend more than $70,000 if I can help it which might mean a couple of things I want may need to be sacrificed, time will tell.
100% agree on all your statements. Glad I’m not the only one worried I’ll get hosed out of money right after I buy a Scout

I hate stuff like that, I've used a configurator before where there was one additional thing I would have wanted but I could only get it in a package that cost over $6,000. Another thing on a similar topic, I also really hate when I pick an exterior color that I like and then when I go to pick an interior color I like it says not available with the current paint selection, so I either need an exterior color I don't want, or an interior color I don't want, why can't I just pick the colors I want!
Same boat. Despise that approach

If yall are patient, maybe a lease would be a better avenue when Scout makes that available.

That way you dont take that hit of depreciation if there is a political shift and EVs get subsidies again.

I am going to purchase mine because I am not as concerned about resale value. Whatever I buy is going to be driven until the wheels fall off. I have 4 kids and they will be inheriting my wife and I's hand-me-downs.

As a first year member I hope that translates to an early edition or a launch version and I will not want to give that up. My goal is to be buried in my Scout. But as mentioned the other day. If someone thought mine was amazing enough to pay me $10-$15K more than I paid I’d have to consider it. That would pay for my Karman Ghia convertible 😀. But if launch is special and limited I wouldn’t want to miss out on that

I’m sure there are people on here who would like to lease. That’s isn’t me. Im planning on keeping my Scout till my kids take my keys away and then my kids or grandkids can have her.

It would take a lot more than $10 or $15 for me. Double I might think about it. But if she’s a special launch color or something then nope double isn’t even enough. She’s mine.
