  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

You know you can get a bench seat in the Traveler as well.

Scout Motors. “People. Connections. Community. Authenticity." Welcome to the Scout community. Enjoy the ride. 🛻 🚙
Remember the built in search on the forums is a great place to start getting answers to your many questions. 😀
I was wondering, I havn't done enough research to confirm that but if thats the case I will most likely stick with the traveler with bench seat and the onboard generator.

Yes you can get the bench seat in either. It will be an option in either one.

I went back and forth but seeing them in person I love that console in the middle so I’m sticking with that. I do love that they have the bench as an option. I think it’s going to be really popular.

I would love to see them in person once they have a more production ready model to see how the console on the bench seat will be. So hopefully the pre production builds will get to tour around before orders go live, and hopefully come to middle Tennessee

Really is a tough choice. As soon as I saw the bench seat it sealed my decision to get one. Now I’m like man that console storage surrreee would be nice though. I imagine I’ll be flip flopping like this for the next 2 years 😭

I was flip flopping until I saw them in person. That made it much easier to make a decision. As cool as that bench is I’m going console. It’s so pretty.

Same for me. At reveal I was loving that bench and was sold and now I keep thinking I like the cockpit feel and I will likely NEVER need the 6th seat space so probably go with the standard seats

Maybe once they finalize the center flip down console I may find it more appealing. Every 3 weeks at work as I continue growing our new division I remind management that I’ll need a company truck and they are considering converting fleet to EV. With meeting clients I could probably live with SUV as well but I’d request the bench so I can slide and do work on the tablet. Our branch is in Charlotte-5 minutes from new SM headquarters so hoping I can eventually get @Jamie@ScoutMotors to meet with our VP and me and work something out. Probably only a fleet of 20 trucks but good to introduce neighbors.

The few uses for the bench seat don’t outweigh the usefulness of the console. You can have a 6th seat, let your S.O. or you pet sit right next to you, you can slide over to use the table, you can also use it as a divide if you have your dog in the back seat so they can’t stand on the console, extra floor space?

But with the console I feel like you’ll get more storage, a constant arm rest, charging pads, a cooled box if that makes it to production

Hence the reason I want the console for my Scout 😀

I have made two reservations for the Traveler and Traveler Harvester. I am stoked for these to come out. I am a little leery about the maintenance required on the Harvester.
Welcome to the community! So glad to have you here. Just an FYI unless you plan on buying two you don’t actually need to reserve both. You can change your reservation at anytime and won’t lose your place in line. Additionally, we aren’t locked in until we place our order. When it’s our turn to order we can order either the Terra or Traveler and go BEV or EREV.

I initially reserved the Traveler Harvester on reveal day but about a month or so ago I changed my reservation to a BEV for the same reason you mentioned. The range for my needs is sufficient and I’m thinking the BEV will be less maintenance.

Welcome again and have fun on here. There’s so much info and feel free to ask any questions. There’s usually someone that has an answer, even if sometimes the answer is we don’t know yet.
