Yep. He likes that blue because it’s matches the color of his car. I think I have a guy in Canada who can fix it. But if anyone else has any other ideas let me know.

Great idea! You can find those exact keychains on Alibaba (without the laser “engraving”), but you likely don’t have time to get it and have it “engraved" before the end of the year.
I would drill a small hole in the existing metal clasp and put a new ring in it. That way it would be a repair and refresh (kintsugi) of a previous gift rather than an attempt to replace it.
I would put this kind of attachment on it so there’s less stress on the leather and clasp. You can find a bunch of different kinds at the various online retailers.

What happened?Welp, the dealer left the Jeep outside one more night to see if the problem would appear. Nope, started just fine so I’m on my way to pick it up. I mean the AC is fixed now and I didn’t even know that was broken so I guess that’s good. At least 2 more years, come on Rain, keep it together.
The saga is up earlier in this thread. Couple posts. What happened?
I hope the starting problem disappears for you...Welp, the dealer left the Jeep outside one more night to see if the problem would appear. Nope, started just fine so I’m on my way to pick it up. Thanks. So far so good. And I got the ac system drained, recharged and a new upper ac line for $100. So something I didn’t even know was a problem got fixed.I hope the starting problem disappears for you...

I swear cars know when you are thinking of replacing them and they take the opportunity to self destruct.I hope this as well.
But... I'm skeptical of problems that mysteriously disappear. I never trust that they will "stay gone" so to speak.
Well of course.I swear cars know when you are thinking of replacing them and they take the opportunity to self destruct.
Oh for sure. My husband is the IT person in this household and as soon I get him when something isn’t working, it works.Well of course.
And it was on its best behavior at the dealer.
But just wait for the next time you're either late for work, or in some more remote area, thats when issues will inevitably pop up again.
(I was a SysAdmin for a small department in college, and the number of times I got calls from faculty about their computer doing something weird was huge. And the number of times that when I got there, when they tried to repro it for me, it would behave perfectly.
We always joked it was because computers were part sentient, and knew when to behave, for fear of being reformatted).
yepper - the ol' grey-area problems...I hope this as well.

Gorgeous!A small herd of elk who seem to have been separated from the larger herd came by this morning. Here are a couple of photos through the snow.
