Good luck! This feels like my last hurrah.
I have 4 kids that will need wheels and possibly college soon, so I will be hanging onto my Scout for a while.

I'm just on the other end of that tunnel (but only 2 kids), and with my oldest off the payroll and my youngest starting her senior year, the timing of the Scout release is making it feel like my reward for getting through - but regardless, i want all the stuff except HUD- bring on the heated and cooled stuff! This feels like my last hurrah.

I don’t know you from Boo but it’s sounds like you did a great job so you deserve to reward yourselfI'm just on the other end of that tunnel (but only 2 kids), and with my oldest off the payroll and my youngest starting her senior year, the timing of the Scout release is making it feel like my reward for getting through - but regardless, i want all the stuff except HUD- bring on the heated and cooled stuff!
Heated seats are a must. However, I would like it even better if Scout allows you to control the seat cushion and seat back separately. Our current vehicles both have heated and cooled seats without upper and lower separate controls. My wile uses the heated feature for her back quite a lot but always complains that when she cranks up the heat for her back the seat is just to hot. Some manufacturers may already do this I am just not aware.I never thought I would care about luxury features, having lived with rusted floor pans and loose non-power-assisted steering, to name just two regular features.
But.
I don’t know if I can go back to non-heated seats. My back is worn out enough that a nice heating pad on the lower back during a long ride (even in the summer) is fantastic for relieving pain and stiffness of a long drive.
Agreed. Ours do not, and it’s a feature I would very much like control over.Heated seats are a must. Landed in Austin an hour ago. I don’t know how you people deal with this heat and it’s only 99 -uugghhh!Live in a fairly warm climate. I could live without heated seats pretty easily (if you do seats, do a heated steering wheel as well - nice when working outside in the winter). That said, I used my cooled seats a lot. Honestly, none of my vehicles have truly adequate cooling systems for Texas. But cooled seats at least prevents certain areas from becoming waterlogged during trips (even when the rest of me is not at optimal temps. That said, IF the Scout puts in an insulated hard top as an option - perhaps the standard AC might have a chance to keep up.
I remember when the IRS luxury vehicle rules were implemented. They sucked. Basically everything nicer than a generic K car was luxury. Net effect is why Texas is full of fully loaded trucks now (and has more 3/4 ton trucks than probably needed - as they originally were necessary to get around the rules before 1/2 tons grew in weight). I also recall the year when 1/2 ton crew cabs passed the weight limit.
I can't cope with that either, it's the humidity that kills me. I've been in Palm Springs and Phoenix in July with temperatures ranging from 105-118 which I could still cope with, but in humid places, once it gets past like 80 I'm struggling.Landed in Austin an hour ago. Same. I miss living in California for that reason. This humidity in Illinois is for the birds.I can't cope with that either, it's the humidity that kills me. Humidity is relatively low today at a balmy 64% here in south west Florida.I can handle 120 ºF, I can’t handle humidity.

Not like we don’t have it in Lancaster County but I hear you. Even Palm Springs eventually eats at you but it’s walk outside and sweat weather here in Tx.I can't cope with that either, it's the humidity that kills me. I hope it’s not 100c in your office, that seems a little on the boiling side! It’s 100 ºC in my office (yes—I can’t cover the labor costs to finish the insulation and drywall, so am very slowly doing it myself). And only 12% humidity. So it’s warm, but not miserable.
Oh, geeze. No 100 ºF. Sorry. I’ve been in science mode all day. Sigh.I hope it’s not 100c in your office, that seems a little on the boiling side!![]()
It's downright soupy here in Charleston right now. 90s most days and humidity over 80%. It also makes it feel colder in the winter. 50 degrees with high humidity is not nice either.I can't cope with that either, it's the humidity that kills me. It’s been a “cool” summer in Texas, last year we broke the record for consecutive days over 100 degrees (75 if your curious)Landed in Austin an hour ago. I don’t know how you people deal with this heat and it’s only 99 -uugghhh!
