How would you build your Scout?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Behold! THE BUMBLE BEE

  • Terra Harvester, just as you see it above. Though after a lot of research here and other places I’m feeling real comfortable with the BEV.
  • 33” pizza cutter tires of some description.
  • Black aero wheels if they don’t look too clunky.
  • I think the rear tire carrier would look great on this tho its not a deal breaker.
  • Don’t need dif. Lockers or sway bar disconnect.
  • Don’t really care about heated/cooled seats/steering wheel—unless they are not extra.
  • I like the interior of the concept Terra.
  • Rubber floor mats but still with a nice carpet underneath.
  • Bench seat w/folding console.
  • Rear opening window.
  • No skimping on the displays and software. I’d like to be able to completely customize the look and organization of all informational displays. Particularly for driving parameters. I’m thinking of the principle of first order of retrieval.
  • The ability to slave an iPad to the display for extra screen if I like. And the ability to move screen modules on and off of the iPad as well.
  • A full set of quality charger adapters, and a level I/II charger for emergencies.
  • I like the existing understated bumper and tow hook set up.
  • Probably a steel roof but if there is a good thermal mitigating glass available that would be awesome.
  • Not sure about a roof rack tho i like the idea of a light bar and mount for a starlink.
  • Premium sound system; maybe.
  • Some kind of unobtrusive slider/step, not a power fold out. Those seem like a smash magnet.

It should be apparent that i wont be doing much if any off-roading (though that is not completely ruled out.) i’ve had to think long and hard about WHY I want this Scout. It’s a nostalgia thing, but it needs to be useful too.
I forgot the tonneau cover, trailer brake controller, and possibly a camera over each wheel, on the axle plane, pointed straight down to show me exactly where the edge is a shelf road.

My selections (mostly copied from others - thanks):

-Traveler/Harvester
-Dark Green
-Ghost Rallye Stripes
-Light grey/chrome bead lock wheels
-Colored brake calipers - scout orange
-33 inch wheels / 18 inch rims
-Clay colored interior just like Traveler prototype
-Earthy gray quartersawn oak trim
-carpet delete (all rubber washable flooring)
-cabana or glass roof
-tube style running board/step
-roof rack
-rear tire carrier
-winch
-towing package
-trail lighting package
-air compressor
-underbody axle/harvester protectors
-harvester snorkel

(probably more...)

Remove truck bed for diy wood bed for access to harvester and oil pump ect..

also bolt my crane lift on there because I'm fat and lazy. I don't like lifting things.

Also bull horns on the front hood.

Because I'm stupid and need the sound for when a Cybertruck driver flicks me off. I understand the ct is armoured for 9mm. I would never shoot a gun at a vehicle.

Ill hook it to the Terra air tank I reckon

I’m a new member - just discovering the (new) Scout and this Forum. I’m super confused. Why are people specifying beadlock tires? I’m certain Scout won’t offer it, stock, as they’re not DOT approved - and I can’t conceive under what scenario people imagine airing down <15 psi in a Scout. Do people just mean something like Black Rhino’s that LOOK like beadlocks? Sorry - I’m the newbie and curious what the options will be and why people prefer certain options - but that’s an option I’m CERTAIN won’t be offered.

I like the idea of Beadlock capable wheels. I had them on my Raptor, and the wheels on my TRX are Beadlock capable. I personally thinks they look cool.

For me, that’s what I mean. Looks like a beadlock.

You only need them if you have to air down into single digits - and if you have to do that - it’s not with a Scout. You have to be constantly checking bolt torque, and . . . they’re not DOT approved for on-road use. If people want that military look, Scout could offer something - or if they want the function (most of it - like airing down in the 10-12 range), Scout could do something like Methods with bead grip (enhanced bead retention features without external bolts). PERSONALLY, I think the Scout has a more friendly, innocent look - they are really trying to honor the original. No massive grill face and hood hump, no ridiculous fender flares, no “angry eyes” headlights. So something like Black Rhino Arsenals seems kind of incongruous with that aesthetic- but everyone has their own thing. For their stock wheels, I hope they play it with a restrained hand. Not boring suburban by any means - but not Idiocracy Monday Night Rehabilitation, either.

These are the wheels we have seen so far. And the wheel from the two different traveler colors we have see. Is the same just one is two tone and one is all black.

The new Scouts are being built to handle off road. With that capability why wouldn’t you see people wanting that option? I like looks but gravel roads and fields will be the hardest off-road I personally do so need from my point of view 😂

To have the NEED to go below 10 psi (the only reason you would need true beadlocks), you would need to be running trails above a 6. I know the clearance on a Scout is going to be good - but I just don’t think it’s the right vehicle for 7+, so you don’t need (or want) true beadlocks. Even soft dunes - PSI 10-15. I kind of think of it as somewhere between an Outback Wilderness and a Jeep Rubicon. There isn’t just one vector for “off-road worthy.” If that were true, we would only be running a modified sxs. Can you imagine trying to do the Namibia run in that? 😅. Whoever did that might end up as a Rhino kebab. It would be like a Twix bar for the lions.
“Do you like the one on the left or the right?”

“I don’t know - but I love the marbling on these Americans. I just always have a hard time getting off their Oakleys.”

Beadlocks add weight and more rotational mass, further decreasing efficiency on an already heavy and inefficient truck / SUV (which is the case for all trucks and SUVS). Since Scout is enabling more modifications with their designs, they would really just need to account for wheel size and how big of a tire they would want an owner running on their own OEM wheels (think suspension, brake clearance, torque, clearance, axles. motors/ratios, etc). They could offer a beadlock "capable" wheel the way others do, then put the burden back on the owner to convert the factory wheel to a real beadlock with rings. That would be the ONLY way we would say any form of OEM beadlock coming from Scout.

If you look at the 9 or so other vehicles that deliver with beadlock capable wheels, they are either offering a ~$4K upgrade to "option" add beadlock capable wheels, or they are selling them as part of their top of the line off-road package for an additional ~$5-~15K. That actual market for buyers of real beadlocks is very small (compared to Scout's broader target market).

If you do deliver a vehicle with an OEM option like a beadlock capable wheelset, you are essentially telling a buyer that the vehicle can handle very challenging terrain, but the burden is on you. I'm guessing Scout would want to do their own HD testing with that wheelset on the production trucks prior to either making those wheels an option, or building them into a specific extreme off-road package. That will take more time, testing and investment

So, my guess is that the first wheelsets we see will be similar to the ones we have been shown, and that this could come later. Nothing would stop anyone from trying their own wheel mods, provided that they fit.

100%. Just don’t see them doing it. It would be NICE if there were a bead grip feature like methods for that 10-15 space - a little added security

Lol, Bead lock tires aren't DOT approved, but some how Dayton rims are. Mean while those things can end someone's life when removed incorrectly due to the pressure those wedge clamps are under.

Good morning everyone! Been thinking about this. I don’t like angry eyes Jeep grills either. Think it’s ridiculous, but if that’s someone’s jam who am I to judge. With the Scout I hope it’s similar to what you can do with Wranglers and Broncos and 4Runners and Grenadiers. If I wanted a vehicle that looked the same as someone else with the same trim and color I would buy a Hyundai Santa Fe XRT or a Honda Pilot Trail edition (I forget that trim name).

That’s part of the reason I love my Wrangler so much. It’s uniquely mine and I see Scout being able to deliver that uniqueness.

When I went to Nationals all the vintage Scouts weee so different.

And the other thing that made me very happy at Nationals was seeing all the colors of the rainbow. They were not all just black, silver and white. I’m hopeful that Scout will offer us many fun colors.

To be clear - there will never be an angry eyes Grenadier. You would be excommunicated. One young guy in Dallas went with 20” rims and low profile tires - you would think that the 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse had arrived. Poor kid. That said, I do think that the original Scout had plenty of “beach party buggy” in it. Chop the top, put on a roll cage, iridescent purple with gold metallic flake, maybe a graphic of Gandalf riding a unicorn on the hood - absolutely legitimate call.

I can’t even imagine a Grenadier on a wheel and tire set up like that. 😹. Poor kid. Vehicles are so personal I really try to be respectful. If that makes someone happy then more power to you, but it wouldn’t be for me.

Allow me to test the tolerance level of a Jeep owner and their acceptance of any and all mods. Behold - the Mansory build of the Ineos Grenadier, in all of its Bavarian glory.
