How would you build your Scout?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
If Scout comes out with a turquoise with copper accents, I might have to try much harder to justify trading in my Lightning for the Terra.
Good thing we live so far apart because the right shade of teal with Bronze times is high on my list -probably same level as butter yellow but that is the homage to first one but either would be top choices

Terra Harvester (unless they can’t hit at least 8k towing, then BEV)
  • Green, ideally like my profile pic.
  • Standard 33” tire is great by me.
  • Cabana roof, I want to ride down to the beach open-air.
That’s pretty much it as far as the exterior goes. I’m likely going to put some aftermarket side-mount tool boxes on as well.
  • I really like the overall scheme of the Terra concept, so probably something like that.
  • Bench Seat is a definite. I’ll always opt for a bench seat as long as they’re an option.
  • Rubber floor. Carpet in a truck is just… dumb
I don’t demand much on the interior. If it has basic cruise control and mirror, and my phone can hook up for music, I’m happy.

So on the green truck. My Dad had a ‘76 Ford F-150 Explorer while I was growing up. Regular cab, 8’ box. Absolutely loved that truck. After I was out of High School I had the truck, though it was in disrepair and barely driveable. I never was able to as a young man get enough money together to fix it up. It went to one of my nephews who my brother-in-law and him fixed it up. Now the thing is babied, parked in a garage and gets out to the local car shows.

A few years back I went to trade in my previous F-150. It was bright, race red. Fun truck, but growing family I decided to get a crew cab. Found the truck I wanted, green exterior, had every option I wanted. Unfortunately, when I went to the dealer it was no longer listed online. They were on the case, they did find it (It was at a different dealer about 150 miles away) and I went ahead and made the purchase and handed my truck over with them giving me a loaner for a few days. I get a call the next day and they explained the reason I couldn’t see it online anymore was because it had been hail damaged, and therefore wasn’t sellable. I was devastated. I had searched for almost a year for the perfect truck (should have just ordered one). Alas, they got me one very similar but in a bronze fire color. It’s been a good truck for the last 9 years… but damnit I want my green truck!

Honestly, no clues till options are presented. Not sure if Scout is going to do a Founders Edition or a Heritage Edition. Then will need to see how I feel - do I want something that will be visibly distinctive from general production or not.

That said have a Traveler EV, would prefer a hard top, preferably reinforced and insulated. Depending on tire option limitations, not even sure if I want the rear tire carrier. Rear tire carriers are a bit a pain in the ass - but it will add flexibility and scream off road (it might also scream Scout-but I think the Scout will be easily identified either way).
