Through the Merch and my job, I've introduced about 1,000 people to the new scouts. Because I drive a bolt a surprising amount of people like to ask about it, then with casual conversation, and I have the opportunity to show them the scoutsThis is why we keep advertising and building content to increase brand awareness. I feel that way after 4 hours so you are still doing better than someWeekend before last we did 16 hours, almost to the minute. I told my wife in the last 2 hours that my ass end no longer existed and I was just pogo sticking on my spine at that point, lol.
I’m more in the people don’t know or heard but don’t understand. They will all come around and when they do that res list will scream past 200KJust to paint the other side of the fence, for me almost everyone I talk to knows about Rivian, Tesla, Ioniq, etc. and its either a blank or a "I may have heard of that before" when it comes to Scout.
Once they hit the inside of the auto shows the reservations are going to take off even more.I’m more in the people don’t know or heard but don’t understand. They will all come around and when they do that res list will scream past 200K
I heard a lot of that in Hudson last week and I get why the vehicle displays have been smaller events because it’s grass roots. Everyone goes to a car show to see cars so most already know. Several 1,000 going to a concert in upstate NY (and are affluent and have cash and the gotta be first attitude) don’t show up expecting to see Scouts so it is very grass roots and that’s also what gets people talking and telling a friend, then another…..This is why we keep advertising and building content to increase brand awareness. We are considering one to replace our '07 WK diesel. We need a "farm truck" to haul hay, compost, etc. We are just going into town and back and around our property. Slate would be perfect for that. But we can't do that until I get my Scout as neither the Slate nor my Model X Plaid can haul our boat. Which probably works out as by then we should know if Slate is going to make it.While I'm happy it's optional since I wouldn't want one, adding options quickly drives the cost up well beyond what makes financial sense. That said, I'd consider a Slate for a new driver, but not much else.
I think all of us at Scout have had the situation where someone socially asks where you work/what do you do and you tell them Scout and most people have no idea. Things will radically change when vehicles are on the road.
Good call. There are also a bunch of old guys around here that still drive around in their old S-10s. They'd probably be a decent market too.We are considering one to replace our '07 WK diesel. Are we going to see more regional or national advertising, tv, print, social media ?This is why we keep advertising and building content to increase brand awareness. A big chunk of the population is still discovering us.
Another article. I just want those shirts and patches that were at the festival this weekend.
Is there a vehicle that has them so I can see what they look like? Thanks!I’m not sure where this thought goes. Since I just noticed this in the images in the article you linked, it’ll go here.
Scout’s concepts do not have air deflectors in front of the tires on the front or rear. If this design is carried through to production, this will allow fast-moving air to get up into the wheel wells and increase drag. Adding well-designed deflectors in front of the wheel wells would improve the coefficient of drag by another 10% or so. That won’t translate to a 10% improvement in range, but it could help quite a bit.
Large, skinny, light-weight tires that mostly fill the wheel well would end up helping the situation somewhat if there are no deflectors.
The Lightning has an air dam across the entire front. It’s not the most elegant or efficient way to accomplish this.Is there a vehicle that has them so I can see what they look like? Thanks!
The 4Runner's air dam is comically large and hangs super low for an offroad vehicle, but it makes for a great example. Is there a vehicle that has them so I can see what they look like? Thanks!
I was hoping it wasn’t that. That car was on my list and if I got that one that was going to be the first thing that was yanked off.The 4Runner's air dam is comically large and hangs super low for an offroad vehicle, but it makes for a great example.

That’s an extreme example.I was hoping it wasn’t that. That car was on my list and if I got that one that was going to be the first thing that was yanked off.
