Important to remember that "production start" and "when I get my vehicle" are two vastly different dates.
I wasn't expecting to be behind the wheel until 2028 anyways.

Mentioning vaporware. Has anything come from Alpha Motors? I really like their designs, but I bet we never see them.Ford's entire EV line other than the Mustang Mach-E and F-150 mild hybrid is vaporware. There aren't even any public concept drawings yet. And we're supposed to believe they're targeting spring of 2027 for production? I'll believe it when there are vehicles on dealer lots.
Same and even if it was 2027 I wouldn't be taking delivery anyway as next year we'll be focused on replacing the wife's ID.4. I was thinking 2028 or 2029 unless needs change or something happens to my now 10 year old Audi forcing a purchase of something else.Important to remember that "production start" and "when I get my vehicle" are two vastly different dates.

Ugh. I don’t have to worry about maintenance (thank you MOPAR lifetime warranty) but I’m hoping I can make the tires last till I get my Scout. It’s going to be tight. My car is at ~90k miles and freshly out of warranty so we've entered the true maintenance cost vs value territory. Just hoping that scale doesn't tip until I can take delivery because not having a car payment is awesome in the interim. (and I need new brakes and tires ugh)
No question I could run for another 100k but we'll see how it goes!
I haven’t heard anything in a long time. I don’t think they excited investors enough to go very far. They have a LOT of graphics about their dozen or so potential vehicles. Most of those seem to be renders based on old Toyota pickups, VW Baja Bugs, Porsche, old Land Rovers, and other European and Japanese designs from the 1960s to 1980s. But there doesn’t seem to be much technological advancement.Mentioning vaporware. Has anything come from Alpha Motors? I really like their designs, but I bet we never see them.
I had never heard of that brand, but looked at their site & that is an...ambitious...amount of vehicles to start off with.I haven’t heard anything in a long time. But…??? I don’t really know much more than that.
I saw their truck some years ago and figured I’d wait to see if they do anything with it. I’m still waiting.

thats what i thought about KARMA Automotive until i went to florida and saw a few.Wow, I have not thought about Alpha Motors in a while. I loved the truck renders they had, but I could tell right away that the company was selling smoke.
I don’t know what ECD stands for but no final specs yet. The two vehicles they have are still just concepts. We haven’t even seen pre-production, let alone production vehicles.General question here......but given that we're into 2026 now and production is supposed to start next year, is there an ECD for Final Specs on the two models? They must have some idea of what they are by now if they're going to produce something next year.
Oh I think I just figured it out. Estimated completion date? If that’s it. No they haven’t announced any dates as of yet that I’m aware of.General question here......but given that we're into 2026 now and production is supposed to start next year, is there an ECD for Final Specs on the two models? Rivian R2 is supposed to go on sale in like a couple months yet we won't know all the final specs/prices/etc. until March. I don't expect we'll get that info from Scout for quite some time. The one thing I do know is they're trying to pump up towing capacity for Harvester vehicles since it'll be their top seller and feedback was that 5K wasn't enough.General question here......but given that we're into 2026 now and production is supposed to start next year, is there an ECD for Final Specs on the two models? The Rivian sub Reddit seems to be celebrating this story for some reason.I’ve posted my pessimistic prediction in several threads. It’s based on the timing of several other new model releases, both from established manufacturers and from new manufacturers. I suspect there will be a handful (a few hundred to a few thousand) Scouts rolling off the factory floor any given month beginning late 2027. Then serious production volume will ramp up toward Q3 to Q4 of 2028. But this is just me guessing.
The most official word is from Jamie and that’s that production is on target at this time.
That doesn’t mean there will be 250,000 Scouts produced in 2027. That’s simply not going to happen and that isn’t anything that was promised by anyone at Scout. In fact, the only suggestion of a promise by Scout was that production was targeted to begin in 2027.
This is a screengrab from archive.org’s backup of Scout’s website on 28 October, 2024, four days after the reveal and production date announcement.

The cultish behavior coming from some Rivian owners is starting to become concerning. We don’t need to celebrate even the rumors of failure of innovative companies. The Rivian is entirely outside of the price range of most people in the US, so it makes no sense for their customers to think a delay of a lower-priced “competitor” is a good thing for them. The Rivian sub Reddit seems to be celebrating this story for some reason.
Any concerns about authenticity of sources are downvoted.
Oddly enough, I'm not opposed to EVs in general, it's all the stupid stuff they put in (or don't put in) with the electric drivetrains. No buttons/all screens, no door handles, etc. I'll want to keep one engaging vehicle to drive, but will likely be all-EV otherwise in the next few years. A silky-smooth inline-6 or a big V8 attached to a manual transmission is hard to beat from an engaging standpoint, and the rolling toasters just don't get my heart going. To be fair, ICE vehicles with automatic transmissions count as rolling toasters to me too. So boring to drive, whether it's a race-prepped DCT or an econobox. This seems to be a consistent message.
