Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Historically, yes. But think ‘Electrall’ is a better badge for BEV - all-electric, big battery to power your tools, campsite, home, aircraft, etc.

Plus we wouldn’t want to confuse those knuckle-dragger EREV prospects…

Hey now - Some of us are still in the EREV camp (at least until I convince myself otherwise...)

My baseless speculation is that at best, we’ll see EREV launch first in late-2027/early-2028 for MY28 with slow ramp-up. Then BEV late-2028/early-2029 for MY29.

No proof, no evidence, just gut feeling.
I’m still curios. The EV is way ahead in development and complexity is added with EREV. So do you slow start with EV to get them out in public then go hard core with EREV or do you risk delaying start and losing a lot of buyers OR do you push EREV too quickly, release then start having recalls. To me the logic is ramp up with the BEV to get production line rolling then convert as quickly as possible and make 95% of production EREV and trickle in a batch of BEV’s once a month or so to keep everyone happy. I prefer BEV, I can live with EREV but if they suddenly delay everything by 6-9 months will I wait around on an EREV when I really wanted the BEV anyways and theoretically they could be producing them sooner. Get whatever is ready out the door first so you have cash rolling in. That’s business 101.
Seeing a Scout on the road is marketing so put out what you can ASAP then adjust production as soon as EREV is ready to go.

And one other thing. For whatever reason we all assume they are going to be delayed. There’s nothing that says they can’t be ahead of schedule.

At this point I have no control over any of this, which tends to drive me nuts, so deep breath and I’m going back to my pictures I took in Chicago, talking about PBY and thinking about my lifestyle so I can tell Aileen and the CMF team what I want in my Scout.

Sounds like a good way to bide your time. :)

I’ve been convinced they are ahead of schedule since day one. I don’t believe in delays

Just a side note as I didn’t see email and need to make a change on my account. I reached out to SM support and they responded instantly-Kudos to Sage who was super friendly. But what is more awesome if you haven’t used support-they are called TRAILGUIDES. just think that is brilliant

I might have answered my own question. I think it’s on the Scout Motors main site.
I don’t remember clicking anything about getting emails.

Hey @Jamie@ScoutMotors can we get some guidance as to how we need to have things clicked to ensure we get these emails. Many of us signed up a long time ago and may not remember exactly what we did or didn’t do.

Thanks!

That’s awesome! How do I get that job? I would love to answer questions about Scout all day!
