Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
I hit post to soon. The Oh! Was because there’s Forumla E now with electric race cars. SM just needs more eyes to see these amazing vehicles.

That would be awesome to have 10 differently painted trucks for each team in a parade with the drivers in the back. Alpine is blue and pink! Pink!!

That is a great idea. Formula E is hot, hot, hot

"Hit the gas" in an EV? Wash your mouth out with soap, young lady! :p

I know calling it the accelerator is a mouth-full, so most EV drivers just call it the "go pedal".

It’ll always be the gas pedal to me. That reminds me, when I make a collection of songs in iTunes, I’m gonna start calling them “mix tapes” just to make my kids eyes roll 😂

Reminds me of back in the day when I was told that you should get your car up to 90-100 once in a while to clean out carbon deposits or something like that. Never stopped to ask if it was true 😉
Italian tune ups are REAL and VALID and nobody can ever tell me otherwise.

(Pretty sure modern DI engines don’t really need it, but I can’t imagine it actually hurts. And it’s fun!)

This is interesting. I think it’s what we all kind of know.

From Article: ""For the first time, PHEVs, on average, have more problems than their battery electric vehicle (BEV) counterparts," the study's authors said. That equates to scores of 237 PP100 for PHEVs vs. 212 PP100 for EVs. And here's some good news for EV fans: those cars are trending better because one consistent outlier in initial quality, Tesla, seems to be cleaning up its act. "The improvement in BEVs is driven by a 62 PP100 improvement for Tesla," the study said.

Both gasoline cars and normal hybrids rank better than EVs and PHEVs, the study said, at 184 PP100 and 196 PP100, respectively.

"As you can imagine, Tesla carries the lion's share of the EV market, so when they improve (as they did by 62 PP100 this year), they take the BEV average with it," said Frank Hanley, senior director of auto benchmarking at J.D. Power, in an email to InsideEVs. "Also, when comparing PHEVs to BEV or ICE models, they are getting impacted with issues from both the combustion engine (shifting, hesitation, etc.) as well as the electric engines (range, charging issues, etc.)"

In other words, Hanley said, PHEVs are getting hit twice, whereas EVs and internal-combustion cars only see issues in one or the other."

It sounds like plug in hybrids are not drastically worse than EVs, but there is definitely room for improvement.
