Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
I wonder if Scout will be able to take these lessons that Rivian is learning between the R1 and R2 and implement them in the Scout.

The part about wiring harness and ECU improvements is in the electrical architecture that went into the Rivian/VWG joint venture.

The part about motor improvements is an interesting question. Does Rivian make their own motors? I don’t think anything has been said but I have the impression Scout is going to a third party for a rear axle with integrated drive unit. Getting the front drive unit from the same vendor would save them a lot of development effort so they could put their energy into other stuff unique to them.

Real Solid State Battery testing. Not lab testing.

I hope it is super successful and that other restaurants copy them. While I love that Sheets has partnered with Electrify America and that Walmart will soon have its own chargers, it would be nice to have more options for eating while charging. For those not familiar with Sheetz, that is a gas station/convenience store chain primarily in the South Eastern US. For those not familiar with Walmart, I don't have the words . Sheetz and Walmart are a great option for a pit stop and DCFC, but the more options we have the better it is for all EV drivers.

Sheetz actually started in PA just west of State College (Penn state) and has headed south and west so they are all the way up the east coast, in Ohio and maybe working westbound. Glad to know people stop and use it in the southeast

Im sorry but don’t put GR on things where it doesn’t belong. You aren’t going to track a RAV4. We haven’t tracked our Supra but we could!

I don't think this is what Scout will be using at all. They will stick to what they are already developing. Car Ply Ultra is Apple's answer to Android Automotive, not to be confused with Android Auto. Regular Car Play and Android Auto display apps running on the phone using the car's screen. Android Automotive and now Car Play Ultra are full operating systems running on the car, used to handle all of the infotainment. Car makers are generally lousy at operating systems, Google has been providing a car oriented version of Android, Android Automotive, for a while and now Apple wants to play too. I don't know all the details but I suspect Google and Apple will supply some apps that the car makers can use if they wish and the car makers can write their own to run on the Google or Apple OS.

CarPlay Ultra is NOT a full operating systems running on the car. It's an expansion of the old CarPlay, and runs on your phone to display content on screen(s) and interact better with car's physical controls.
