Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
So not too bad. Trying to get used to what it will cost to “fill up” when doing long road trips

This seems very promising! I do hope at some point they come with an app that you can use for all chargers instead of having to have multiple different apps or use credit cards etc. Either that or have it so you can plug and charge on every different charger through the car.
I’ve just spent the last 30 minutes trying to fix my Electrfy America app with no success. I have some sort of charging plan that came with my BMW. Not working…. Anyway I 100% agree with you!

i wish Slate success but at the same time it will be just another Jeff Bezos fail, just like blue origin. Just becabuse Amazon had huge success doesn’t mean every business he start will. And the CEO is a ex Chrysler CEO. Which when have you seen a Chrysler? Little to never.
Apparently they recruited talent from Rivian, Tesla, and a few other EV companies.

But I completely agree with everything you said.

Currently I’m getting just over 500 miles on the Accord hybrid (600 in summer) on a 12 gallon tank. At $3.40-ish/gallon I’m at roughly $42-45/fill up so on a road trip I’ll actually spend more than current but assuming charge at home will be cheaper. So for me I can claim convenience and earth saving as my advantages and realizing I’m going from a solid aerodynamically designed sedan to a brick on wheels.
Charging at the house here is like .15 cents a kw regardless of time of day since our provider doesn’t offer off peak discount. Still loads cheaper than .38 cents at a super charger.

I think it’s weird kinda like bezos himself lol. Can’t wait to see them rolling around with Amazon prime wraps on them.

With that said I’m staying loyal to Scout. I won’t be moving over to Slate, it’s not for me. Sure is it cool that they are 25k sure, but by the time it’s fully spec’d out you would be better off buying a base model Scout. And plus crank windows are for work trucks only, passenger vehicles don’t have them anymore.

Yeah it has some great customization. To bad the price will probably start to climb on it when you start selecting those customizations. I messed around on their website a bit. If it towed more than a Jetta Sportswagon then you know I might think about it, but its currently listed as towing capacity of 1000lbs....

I don't mind the manual windows, especially since you can get automatic ones. There's definity a sense of trying to hit every market they can. Guess we'll have to see what they actually price out at once a person gets them into the niche they want to be in.

Out of Spec has a video up already.
Ok so my thoughts on this are hopefully it’s safe, may be for a beginner driver or a certain market and glad it’s cheap and can be simple. I think it could be for many people.
Not my preference but the economy is tight and will see how it fluctuates. There should be a sub 20-25k market because it is needed. I just got an ad for a new Indian motorcycle yesterday… starting at $46k… and a Mr G watch for $4500 like what. Thats not my market either for toys.

I’ve only looked at this briefly and it’s just too stripped down for that much money. They are saying $20 but really it sounds like that’s after the $7500 tax credit. So $27,500 and you don’t even get power windows or a radio.

No thanks. And don’t get me started on how it looks.
