Jeff Bezos' Slate Truck EV Debuts Today: See The Livestream
The Slate is a unique electric truck that debuts today. You can watch it happen here on InsideEVs starting at 10:20 pm Eastern time.
The Slate reveal video will start shortly.
Apparently they recruited talent from Rivian, Tesla, and a few other EV companies.i wish Slate success but at the same time it will be just another Jeff Bezos fail, just like blue origin. Just becabuse Amazon had huge success doesn’t mean every business he start will. And the CEO is a ex Chrysler CEO. Which when have you seen a Chrysler? Little to never.
No wonder the rims that were shown in renderings look similar to the range wheels from Rivian.Apparently they recruited talent from Rivian, Tesla, and a few other EV companies.
But I completely agree with everything you said.
Depends. .38 cents during peak time here and .22 cents for off peak like 8pm6am etcIs $.42/kwh comparable to super chargers, etc? I have no idea. Seems a touch high? Should have watched longer-they showed comparable chargers
Seems to have no comfort features. No wonder it’s 25k. Boring hahaha. It won’t sell most likely. But maybe for some that’s what they want.Apparently they recruited talent from Rivian, Tesla, and a few other EV companies.

Charging at the house here is like .15 cents a kw regardless of time of day since our provider doesn’t offer off peak discount. Still loads cheaper than .38 cents at a super charger.Currently I’m getting just over 500 miles on the Accord hybrid (600 in summer) on a 12 gallon tank. At $3.40-ish/gallon I’m at roughly $42-45/fill up so on a road trip I’ll actually spend more than current but assuming charge at home will be cheaper. So for me I can claim convenience and earth saving as my advantages and realizing I’m going from a solid aerodynamically designed sedan to a brick on wheels.
I can’t even comment because of politics but this is reckless. All I’m saying
What’s everyone’s thoughts? Beside that this could be highly dangerous. Do we think it will help us push forwards with autonomous driving?
Ok so my thoughts on this are hopefully it’s safe, may be for a beginner driver or a certain market and glad it’s cheap and can be simple. I think it could be for many people.
Out of Spec has a video up already.
I’ve only looked at this briefly and it’s just too stripped down for that much money. They are saying $20 but really it sounds like that’s after the $7500 tax credit. So $27,500 and you don’t even get power windows or a radio.Ok so my thoughts on this are hopefully it’s safe, may be for a beginner driver or a certain market and glad it’s cheap and can be simple. Not my preference but the economy is tight and will see how it fluctuates. There should be a sub 20-25k market because it is needed. I just got an ad for a new Indian motorcycle yesterday… starting at $46k… and a Mr G watch for $4500 like what. Thats not my market either for toys.
Hopefully scout make customization YUGE!I have a family of 6 so it’s not an option for me. But I like RJ from Rivians take, the more competition in the market, the better it is for everyone.
The level of customization is crazy though. I’ve never seen anything like it.

No thanks. And don’t get me started on how it looks.
