Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Nuclear power is great, nuclear waste not so much, so I’m not a huge fan overall, but improving electric supply and infrastructure has to be good for EVs. Way better than coal, at least.
I too am all for more nulclear power.
The existinting US spent fuel could be greatly reduced if we were allowed to reproccess it with the appropriate safegaurds to keep weapons grade materials contained, while still allowing for recoverable additional fuel and the isotopes used for medical purposes..

I want to believe in it and have expressed this on prior threads but having lived close to 3-mile island and the events that occurred and the upheaval of lots of friends and family I’m onboard but not near me. Lancaster county is strategically located nearly dead center of 3 nuclear plants and we were always told we will be one of the first middle strike zones if US is attacked because 3 successful strikes could take out the entire north east or western areas depending on wind paths but typical wind patterns say the NE is destroyed and contaminated. Going to bed now-feeling a bit depressed putting that in writing.
Will the Scout be lead-lined ?
You know they are going to reopen the undamaged reactor, right? All because of the power hungry needs of AI.

Yes. Sadly I know and I’m torn because I know we need cleaner fuel but I also know peoples tomatoes used to be huge around that area so makes me question things. The thing that troubles me is the Susquehanna river runs low in that area anymore so there isn’t enough water to try and flood the containers if something does go wrong.

As long as they aren't American (or Russian) light water reactors nuclear is fine. Something like the CANDU reactors are good, they actually fail safe (unlike the US light water reactors that end up being a 3 Mile Island or Fukishima). The other cool thing about CANDU is they can use the spent fuel from light water reactors (or use weapons) as their fuel source so you get more energy out of the "waste" before it needs to be stored.

That said I'm not in support of building new nuclear facilities of any kind. They're more expensive and less flexible than other non-emitting sources of power. We'd be better off putting in more SWiB (solar, wind & batteries). There are lots of parking lots and roofs that don't have solar over them yet. We'd be able to install more capacity to the grid for far less money than going nuclear. But whatever.

I would agree. There are so many buildings with flat roofs in this country it just begs for solar fields

NFT scams are the herpes of our economy.

This is shady shady shady.

You have to buy specific crypto, using a wallet that only one company provides access to, buy an NFT using that crypto (that you never get your money back from), and either pay for an earlier production slot or take a later free one, and there is no guarantee the cars will ever actually be made.

Exactly all that’s stuff is just a scam as far as I’m concerned.
