  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
So to be clear, a base $60K Scout will be dual motor AWD and have ~350mi range?
Gonna guess no on the 350 range but curious what Jamie will respond with? Gotta think 350 is the long range otherwise by now I would think SM would have announced it. I’m still guessing at like a base 260-280 range and then 350 as long range. Otherwise SM would be teasing the possibility of a longer range. Base BEV the long range BEV the EREV as extended long range.

You inspired me to visit the official website to see how they word it..

..and there it is. Saying "up to 350" instead of "with 350" leaves room for a lower range option so you're probably right. In the very least it sounds like AWD will be standard which would be on brand.

That could also mean 350 under perfect conditions. 100% charge may vary quite a bit on range available. Temperature is the biggest variable.

Thanks for digging in. Hadn’t noticed that caveat before 😀

This is what I'm assuming, and possibly in the EPA cycle. I'm more curious as to what it will do on the highway, like an out of spec 70mph range test. I'm hoping that will be at least 300 miles in good weather but time will tell. Once battery size is confirmed it will be easier to have a guess. I'm assuming 2-2.5 miles per kWh in the real world so 350 miles would need a battery of somewhere between 140kW and 175kW in my opinion.

Keep in mind that there are precursor electric trucks on the market already (mine has been on the road for 3 years), so Scout will be competing on range AND will have additional time for some enhancements based on newer technology at production. Anything under 300 won't really fly for a pure BEV truck at time of launch.
