Early Deliveries, Terra foam mode, and Plant Details

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

I headed to the local baseball game today and had a chance to stop by Scout Motors’ Columbia Professional Office. They had the Terra and the architectural scale model of the plant on display (I’m sure it’s been there for a while).

The pickup is much larger than I imagined, which is a good thing. If I were to compare it to current models, it’s larger than a midsize truck but smaller than a full-size truck in terms of width. Its height and length, however, are on par with a full-size pickup.

One thing I was late to finding out is that locals who placed reservations on day one will take delivery first, and they’ll even be able to pick up their vehicles directly from the factory.

The foam model looked great and really highlighted several design details. You can really see the aerodynamics if you know what you’re looking at. Behind the rear doors, the grab handles appear to incorporate a flying buttress-inspired design.

The bed also sits right at chest level for me (I’m 5’11”). I’m interested to see the Traveler in person because the Terra impressed me enough that I could be convinced to switch my reservation.

Thanks for the reporting from the day. Appreciate the pictures as well.

Also just for clarification, they stated South Carolina buyers who put in their reservation on day one will go first? That’s new information as far as I know.

Thanks for the update.

Correct. She also stated that when we are notified about the next steps, we can choose to build our own or pick one already being assembled.

I really hope Scout will do factory tours once deliveries start! Never ever been this excited about a vehicle in my +45 years of driving. Similar to being a kid waiting for a chopper bike with the banana seat for X-mas excited for us ol' farts. Bikes was the ultimate gift as kid back in my day because it represent freedom, being with friends, and independence. Kinda see Scout doing something similar.

Mine was red and had a red glitter like banana seat 🤣

They’ve had the two and then the one from the one video that was white was another partial buck to work interiors
Yeah I knew about the white one and then the Tahitian Red Traveler at the stadium. I am still dying to see Silo. Come on bring the Terra to the Midwest again so I can see that color. I really don’t mind that I haven’t seen the white Traveler because I have no intention of getting white.

Bicycles…
If you’ve never played full-contact, no ground contact bicycle soccer…Well, we’re all too old for that now, so don’t…just forget I mentioned anything.

(But it was fun back in the day.)
Never did that one, but we used roller blades and pulled each other around like a skier and a motorboat. My chin has the scar to prove it, hah
