Charging while driving…Wild, irresponsible speculation...

We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. So just had my first official Buc-cees experience between Austin and College Station so somewhere not that far from Tesla. There were 12 of the typical Tesla chargers then 6 of whatever their new chargers are that don’t have the red insets-are those the 400 volt series chargers? Needless to say 28 chargers. Ironically nobody was charging.

The newer chargers are “version 4” and can provide up to 500 VDC and a maximum of 250 kVA (kW) per plug.

The Scouts will charge faster on the Electrify America 350 kW chargers than any Version 3 (with the red inset) Supercharger because the V3 SC maximum voltage is 500 VDC, while the EA 350 kW charger’s maximum voltage is 1000 volts.

This means the vehicle won't have to step up the voltage to meet its 800 V battery architecture.
