Tesla to end Cybertruck production as sales stall at ~10% of plan
Tesla will wind down Cybertruck production in mid-2027. Musk blames Cybercab, but the truck sells at about a tenth of its planned 250,000 units a year.electrek.co
Nope, government's still the government and each side is still bullying the other same old, same old. You were hiking, which is the real world and I'm sure it was beautiful. But welcome back. So, I had to take a quick trip to El Paso. Did I miss anything? How'd the elections turn out? Is there a new Scout concept? Was there a new event I missed? Too much time hiking and eating to pay attention to the real world!
It won't.Thanks!
I wonder if his autonomous vehicle bet will ever pay off…
Well did you see the Mountainside concept? If not, we have a Traveler without a tire carrier. No new events since North Carolina and Boston. No new events have been announced to date. So, I had to take a quick trip to El Paso. Did I miss anything? How'd the elections turn out? Is there a new Scout concept? Was there a new event I missed? Some areas just screamed for the Trail Ready. (view from Hueco Tanks State Park, TX)Nope, government's still the government and each side is still bullying the other same old, same old. You were hiking, which is the real world and I'm sure it was beautiful. But welcome back.
You know, this is a super interesting comment. Do people want autonomous vehicles? Or is the automobile so engrained in American culture that we like to drive and have little interest in having the cars drive themselves? For me, I'd like for my car to drive itself on long(er) road trips but that's it. Even on my commute that's about 35 minutes each way, I like to drive. I find it relaxing. Now on a four hour trip of just highway? Yeah, give me hands free on that. So I wonder if Scout's right where most people probably want them. Thanks!

Oh my, the next thing you're gonna tell me is that we should be using zipper-merges!I think the key will be having these things talk to each other and getting out of the way, not hogging (travelling below the speed limit) in the left lane, letting others pass. Cooperative operations which humans have seemed to either not have learned or forgotten about. At least in Taxachusetts.
I think the key here is that OEM's can now provide "choice", and that the decisions surrounding autonomy are not binary, and that different levels of autonomy can be good for different use-cases, as long as safety remains at the core. You know, this is a super interesting comment. Yeah there's a lot of folks up here who must wear pull.over jackets when it rains because they haven't got a clue how a zipper works lol.Oh my, the next thing you're gonna tell me is that we should be using zipper-merges!That's not a concept known, or taught in NC. NASCAR-country doesn't condone letting anyone in front of you.

Definitely no interest here, but I also enjoy driving and find that it relaxes me generally. I avoid interstates typically and prefer taking a scenic route, even if it means spending a few more minutes in the car on a trip. Often, it's faster as it avoids congested areas and traffic jams, while also getting better fuel economy/efficiency. A dumb cruise control is plenty for me, and very rarely used at that. You know, this is a super interesting comment. Do people want autonomous vehicles? I know I said this before, but I'm continually surprised how many of my opinions on this forum are so much like many other people. I'm with you on the long stretches of nothingness being tiring and boring and, for me, I wonder if some sort of autonomous driving might be safer for those stretches. Rather than a long trip from New England down to the mid-Atlantic, I have trips from the Twin Cities to Grand Forks, ND where my in-laws live sometimes. If you've never been to North Dakota, I would not recommend it (unless you are visiting my in-laws, who are AMAZING people and would probably be happy to have you as a visitor). Super boring drive from the Twin Cities to there. I want autonomous driving for trips like that.I think the key here is that OEM's can now provide "choice", and that the decisions surrounding autonomy are not binary, and that different levels of autonomy can be good for different use-cases, as long as safety remains at the core.
Having the choice to have my truck (almost) drive itself over extended, long, fairly-straight and BORING stretches of HWY for hours at a time leaves me feeling a lot better upon arrival at my destination. Best example of this (for me) is driving from New England down to the mid-atlantic on US 95.
There is very little driving "joy" on this route, particularly once you hit the TappanZee or GW heading southbound and crossing into DE. It sounds like Scout's implementation of autonomy with a L2+ system will be a lot like the system I have today. I would also say that I never really wish my truck would just drive itself and be fully autonomous, although I appreciate that some people experiencing this love it, i think i prefer the middle ground where I still have a hand on the wheel (at least at this time and in this phase of autonomous driving's overall evolution) particularly given our current infrastructure, amount of construction happening, etc). i'm not quite ready to fully "let go", so I'm good with Scout's initial direction here. It will be a choice, so if you don't want to use it, you don't have to.
I recently lost my Driver+ functionality (required a SW toggle and a few steps to fix), but when i didn't have it, i wanted it back.
Here's the exact stretch where Driver+ works really well for me... Talk about a straight line slog:
